Well, I figured I would give Z3 hacking a chance, and I think I'm pretty wicked with it. XD I only have one picture for right now, but I will update stuff over time.

Basically, this hack is just a half hack thing, with plenty changed, but nothing serious. However. There will be GFX and ASM hacks in this, so be aware of it.

Here is the Status Bar.

World Map - 11%
Dark Map - 0%
Dungeons - 4%
Dark Dungeons - 0%
Overworld - 2.3%
Dark World - 0%
ASM - 0%
GFX - 15%

Yeah, as you know, I just started with this, but I have your house area done, so yeah. Here is the area, You now live in a small forest area.

Lots more to come from me!

Every new Z3 hack is always a joy to see, since they are rare. Good luck with this.

Indeed. This will be a full-time project as for now. But once I get about 25%, I will release Demo. Then at 50% and 75% and 100%. But this will take alot of time. School will interfere, so won't other lively things.

But I will finish, and I will make it good. But for a newb at Z3 hacking, how does my House area look? God, it feels like I've been hacking Z3 for years, now. XD But yeah...

The house area looks fine. I dont see any drawing mistakes, but watch the grass patterns, they can quickly become squared. Regarding the overworld items, you might want to remove those, they can quickly bug the game.

Square? What do you mean?

Also, I'm not touching the items, so yeah, those items were there in the game itself, I just moved them, is all.

EDIT: I Got the Link Graphics done, that puts it upto 15%, No Not alot of GFX will be done, I just need to know this; How do I edit.....

1. Title Screen Graphics
2. Sword Graphics
3. Shield Graphics
4. Enemy Graphics

THIS IS MANDATORY. I NEED TO CHANGE THESE GRAPHICS, ONCE DONE GFX WILL BE AT 100%!!!

That is all.

Regarding the grass patterns,

Left up – Grass pattern is fluent (looks fledged)
Right up – Grass patterns are squared (looks unnatural and unfledged)

Left down – Grass is hacked, has a dot pattern (looks fledged)
Right down – Grass is plain green colour (looks unfinished and empty)

Regarding the gfx,
Sword, shield, sprites, title is editable in .bin file that you extract from
the rom using zcompress and edit with yy-chr.

Ahh, I see. So what'd zcompress? Besides, I really just wanna have the Deku, Hylian aand WW style Mirror shield. And I want to change the sword, to a knight's sword.

Anyways, thanks. Also, I hate using yy-chr. Could TLP be of use? Also, I have an Update.

THE THREE NEW MAILS

Yes, yes. The new package of clothing has arrived, as the new mail's are in store!

The three new mails are as followed:

Bronze Mail

Silver Mail

And the long lost in the Golden Age. This is obvious by this period...

Golden Mail

If you wonder why they are all in the same place, its because well, Testing purposes. XD Anyways, yeah. Thats it for now, stay tuned, folks!

EDIT: zcompress won't open the ROM, yes it's a clean ROM...why won't it open?

Zcompress extracts the bin file from the rom, but the rom must have a header and must be extended to 2MB. If it still doesnt decompress, then HM has changed the hex addresses so that zcompress no longer finds them, or in other words you can no longer extract the gfx with zcompress. But you can still modify entire gfx tiles with HM in a combination with Paint Shop Pro.

Ahh, I see. Okay, Well, I'm going to try until I get it right, and if I don't get it right, I will have to either get it done by someone else, and have it E-mailed/PMed to me so I can Recompress it, or I will do what you said with that...PSP thing, and/or I will have to scrap the GFX idea. XD

Thanks PZ.

Looking nice, though I think that is too much detail, but great nonetheless...

Keep it up! :>

Yeah, I fixed the image up so it looks like one whole, but it messed up a tiny bit, BUT it still shows all of what was done.

Well, I kinda need a lot of help now from a better hacker,.I seem to have screwed the map up. When you view the map, it shuts the game down. And I think it was me removing a transport to the Palace grounds. Can someone help me with this? I kinda didn't make a backup before doing so....

I think it may have been hyrule magic just being buggy for no apparent reason. You might need to pick up from an older backup, that is if you have been. I maybe wrong, though that is what it sounds like to me... good luck with fixing it.

HM can easily overwrite some important hex values, that you can not fix again. Some are of course editable in Hex, but it is easier to use a previous version, that didnt have the mentioned gamecrash bug. Of course you can use the bugged version to transfer the already made overworld to a non bugged file.

He told me to ask you to fix it. I myself could fix it if I knew what bank and which piece of data it is. Hex isn't hard. Just annoying.

Horrible news....Everyone....

I'm afraid this hack is dead now, due to an unexpected crash in my old computer's hard-drive...

All my data was lost, so...I'm sorry if anyone was hoping for this to be good one...I should try being more careful now...

On another note... I've quit Super Metroid hacking back in November...but...That shit always comes back to haunt me.

Safe to say, I am stil hacking, but I am now back to hacking Super Metroid, and I hope to release something along the lines of a 2013 release...maybe even less time then that...

Hey, there is always the option to start over it again. Perhaps it will be better and even more so when the Dark Magic editor comes out.

To prevent data loss I recommend you to use dropbox for future game projects.

YamI.
I will now give a tip.
To start again with a fresh rom is still no restart.
I've startet the last years again with 5 new roms.
By computer crashes and broken roms I had to start very often again with a fresh rom.
But every time I was faster and better.
So do not get you down and bring us a great zelda hack 3.
