I belive that beta testers would be helpfull because i don't see as many glitches as you could. This bug with non-solid TSA's is because i forgot to made in some places invisible solid pieces of texture and in other to make separate tileset for background and foreground (even if they looks same).

Problem with Ring Man is that because i changed 70C4F value in hex code. It occurs that weird infinite boss bar loading sound but it stop playing as soon as i open menu (just right when bar stops loading) or after a few times of using Drill Bomb. On the other site this value makes Ring Man toss his Ring with diffrent effect (it may go fast slow far stay on place or even not be tossed).

BTW I'm right now finishing Wily Stage 2. All that left me to do is find some glitches and resolve problems with them, redraw Wily boss 3, Finish King boss 4 and that would be all.

I thought about making clip of Wily Stage 4 but that would be pretty weird to show clip of last stage, when rest is unfinished .

But i show you another clip with funny glitch i found in my hack (but i belive it works too on orginal Mega Man 4). Everything how to do it i explain and show in it:



PS: I got a small request. If anyone have got some useful data about Mega Man V hacking (especially about how to input music or about boss AI, routines & their weakness + data about enemies) or know where i could find any, I'd be glad if can help me.

These are last Wily Caslte stages. Levels are finished but bosses still need to be altered. I got some serious problems with Wily Castle Boss 2. It didn't works, but all enemies are placed in right place.

Probably I'm not going to alter music since i don't find way to do that and no one help me with that.

Hope you like it.

I'll do soon a trailer and I'll show off final version of this hack but for now i need to get all glitches out.

How many "Slippery" levels did you have? In Japanese 2ch, I told Yosaku to replace the codes based on Matrixz's patches folder for use on Rockman STH project.

If you look there, then use the following rom offsets to have every slippery TSA tiles for each stage even for the first video you have.

Just 1 level? You could just change the CMP part (C9 0D) 0D is Wily 2 if I'm correct.

Since I'm quite busy i decided to do a small update of this hack:
Mega Man Compilation (10.2012)
There are maior changes since last update
- You can play all stages now (but for some you'll need savestate since 1 boss is crushed and i need to make it work again)
- Got some changes with weapons (for ex. rain flush is working without slowdown)
- There are slippery floors instead normal one in Skull Man and Wily 2 Stage
- I started to work with music. For now i swap some effects (in ROM) but later i going to use custom music
- There are also small cosmetic changes like Mega Man climb ladder faster or time of fade in & out is shortened

One thing that I didn't have time to do is to get rid of all glitches (you may find many of them but i going to delete them just right i back to work on this)

Another thing to do (but not realy important) is to remake some stages. I'm planning when i find some free time to remake mainly Pharaoh Man, Drill Man, Ring Man and eventually Toad Man stages (since i think that graphics could look a little bit better)

Also i got idea to swap all mugshots with new one (i got bored with old one so i decided to redraw them) Here are some samples:

On left you got new version of mugshot, on right version that is used right now in ROM (classing with only pallete changed). I would like to ask you for opinion if they are looking better now and what do you think about them.

And at the end i got request. If anyone have any free time I'll need help with recording new clips (since from last time there are some changes and I'm studying right now so i can't spend as much time as i can previously), so if there's anyone who can record new clips just let me know.

PS: Does anyone have idea how to make that glide blocks and shootable blocks would work on every stage?

The new drillman mugshot is pillowshaded. To be honest it is ugly.

Hey, just small update




As i said I'm going to remade some of levels that I made. For now I decided to change Drill Man, Ring Man and Toad Man, mainly graphically. Those two i just finished last days. I'd like to ask you for opinion which one you prefer (I mean do you like older version of those stages or this one on screens).

I'm changing some levels mainly because I need to improve some graphics, but it also allows me to notice some glitches or bugs so i can delete them quickly.

I got small request about those levels. I need someone who can record a clip for me of those two stages. If anyone can, I'd upload that what i had already done.

This hack is a big challenge for me because i screw up some bosses and now i need to make them work fine. I got same problem when I was working at Mega Man Project Peace but now I decided to finish this hack.

The best info i think is that there is progress in hacking music. I tried to change Bright Man theme into Spark Man theme. The only problem I had is with loops and breaks. I'm not sure what it is, how it works and how to find them in data of channel (for ex. Square 1). But soon I'll have more time to study that so i think that there's big chance you hear custom music in my hack.

PS: Anyone have idea how to make glidable floors works on every level?

Here is a small ASM hack for that. If you change the following ROM locations to these values, that will do it:
782E0: A9
782E1: 08
7939F: A9
793A0: 08
793EB: A9
793EC: 08

This is something that I was worked at last time. I decided to redone some stages (mainly because they were a bit glitchy), but some still need to be redone. I'm going to remake Toad Man stage totally, and make some small cosmetic changes on Skull Man, Bright Man and Dust Man stages (enemy placement, screen viev etc.) After that I'll move to King Stages and Wily Stages. From King I remake probably all stages (except last one and maybe first one), and from Wily only 2nd and maybe 3rd a little. Here's link for demo of current version:

Those stages that I redone shouldn't have any glitches now (except glitch on Ring Man - glitch with boss live bar), but if you notice any just let me know about them.

I've done this but it didn't work. I mean i think glide floor can only work on one level with Rain effect as well. There's data on 792E6 wich decides on wich level both effect works. Is there anything that I can do with that, because I want to make glidable floors on Wily stages.

PS: Anyone know where to find sound engine in Mega Man 2? I'd like to know because i want to change some sound effects from MM4 into those from MM2.

PS2: I got finished next stage of Mega Man 3 REM (Gemini Man) and I'll try to post clip of it.

On Pharaoh Man's stage, MegaMan will be always behind the graphics at the bottom in the first half of the level. It's a bit annoying.
The first screen have some uneccesary text.
The ladder climing speed, and some enemies AI are ridicuolus.
The cannon enemy's graphics is a bit odd when it wants to shoot.

I have checked the game up to Wily 1. I see it's a copy of MM1's W1.

King stages checpoints are still glitchy. When you are testing the game, you should ide at all checkpoints! Don't just rush throguh the stages while testing the game.

Here is a video of Toad Man's Boss Room Scroll glitch. Toad Man can also gltich himself in that 1 sq fall. He is sometimes also tend to jump down from that empty edge.



King 4 Boss is still a big chaos...

Sorry, i mixed up the Glide and Slippery properties. The patch i descibed allows you to use the Slippery block property in all stages.

I have a solution, but it has the side-effect that it will disable the wind effects at the start of Toadman. But it will also allow you to use the "0C: Special" property as it works in Toadman on all levels, it will work like falling water.

792E5: D0
792E6: 3D

The "glide left", "glide right" and "special" properties and the Wind effect are all handled in the same routine, thats why the wind effect will have to go.. you actually can't use some of those effects at the same time.
Another thing, the glide effects can't be used in Cossack Stage 1 since that stage uses the Snow property (0C: Special) at the start. Though, at 792E2 is the Stage Id that the Snow property can be used in, so you could change that. (and the Glide properties will work on every other level Id than that value).

I am currently creating new sprites and tiles for Crist. However I will take my time in doing them, even if I have to use three hours for a perfect sprite or tile. Using three colors is not so bad with the black background, but it is challenging nontheless.

Just a quick question. Is there any way to get rid of "be behind foreground" effect in Toad Man stage - i need to delete it on every screen since I redesigned whole stage.

On a few days I'm going to record next video soon (since almost all stages all redone - just need to do small changes at Skull and Dust Man stages). Than I'll change music on few stages and I'll upload next demo soon (with all robot master stages redone + custom music).

I get busy and that's what I've done for now:



I've altered Bright Man stage. Just need to polish a bit Toad Man and Dust Man stage a bit. Than there will be new demo avaible to download.

I'm working a LOT at custom music. There are two pretty long themes that I want to my hack to contain - King Tower level and King Battle. It will take me a long time to program it, but be sure I'll do this.

I also altered Cossack Map into King Map. Here's result:



What do you think about that?

I'm certain this is an emulator issue with the emulator I'm using, but whenever I try to start up the game and pick a stage, the "Stage Start" screen is wiped off and I get a glitched Wily Castle intro, followed by Wily Stage 1, which I cannot beat as there are doors blocking off the exit.
