This is first new level I made. I didn't working at enemies yet, but I bet they would be altered a bit. Now Drill Man (yet) is more challenging than in Mega Man Project Peace.

I also decided to change name of hack for Mega Man Compilation.

Hope you like this.

I woukd like to ask one more time how to change screen translations to make them move faster.

It's about time someone requested me a fast scroll patch. Unfortunately, the original coding from Rock5easily got deleted so I don't have the file anymore. I can easily do it for you but I don't have Rock5easily's Fast Scroll to help me out. Besides, the data IS the same except WinIPS totally fucked up the code which prevents from being worked for the US version of Mega Man IV.

I should have archive all of Rock5easily's RM4 patches but I guess I had to ask my taiwanese friend cause no one archive these things anymore and few J-authors don't want their work to be redistributed.

I created my IPS patch called tuned up. Once you applied it to the US version of Mega Man IV, not if you have fast scrolling but sound when you scroll the weapons in the menu and Mega Man warps down faster when you start the stage. Please BACKUP before applying into a project.

If I do have the original fast scroll patch for Rockman 4, I'll put it to RHDN this time.

Guy, I'm liking how your taking this hack and molding it into something completely different and new.

The music itself, that resembles a little bit of contra, mixed in with Gradieus 2 in the first 2 minutes of your video.
Nice job so far man.

You may ask why i put wire in level without hiding it. It's obvious that i would like to create one level wich would need wire.

I think demo will be soon (maybe after completing fourt robot master or later), but I'm sure it will be!

You should try to learn how to hack the muic because your hack is way to nice to leave that unchanged! Of course since it's Mega Man 4, it would be harder than hacking the music in 3, or 5. I can give you the documents I've got and an .xls table file. But first you should learn how to use Famitracker because that helps in understanding a lot of things that go on with NES music.

I tried to learn how to use Famitracker. It's not hard to put few tunes, but if it comes to make a whole song it is too hard to me.
I got some nsf. files for this hack and I read something about swapping music in Megaman 4 but it is pretty hard and i need to ask someone who's better in this point, but I want to change music, that sure and I think I use music that I use in clips.

PS: If anyone knows i need three values for Megaman weapons:
1. I need where in hex code is place where i can boost speed of Pharaoh shoot
2. I would like to make that ring boomerang will can go up (if press x + up arrow), but i think that would be hardest thing from those
3. I also need values for Toad Man weapon, I mean I want to lower the time betwen use weapon and start rain and value for rain flush duration

As you can see In last video, when I was working at Skull Man AI i found some intresting values in hex code for speed of his shoots.

PS2: I wonder why some tsa functions (like glide left/right or slippery floor) don't work on some stages. For ex. If i want to put conveyer belt into wily 1 castle the tsa block don't work. Is it anything i can do?

And also Is it possible to make that skull man bullet will animate (share tileset) like his shield. I mean i want to reuse them as a bullet, but i know that bullet animation contains only 1 frame, and i need 3 frames. Is it possible to make it with Tile Layer Pro and Hex Code Editor?

Do you know that I originally want Ring Man to shoot Rolling Cutter and copy the AI routine from Rockman 1. Here's my demonstration. And no, the music from Mega Man Forever wasn't allowed in my own project before I scrap my project away.

Also, I think I would rip data for Shadow Man's Mega Man III control value and try to paste it into an empty bank. I can just rip the difference code from the Metal Blade hack and the original shadow blade.

I haven't hack Mega Man IV for a long time so if you want me to insert the shoot controls in the Ring Boommerang I can try to do so free of charge and give you the instructions.

EDIT:

I can probably do any of the three since it's simple edit and doesn't need any ASM experience. I'll give them to you within less than a day to 3 depending on my activity.

I want to ask, since i want to put custom music into hack. I got some .nsf files from diffrent nes games (for ex. from Ninja Gaiden 2) that i would like to put directly into Megaman IV. Is it possible or i have to rewrite or remake them in Famitracker?

You'd have to remake them first because it's not possible to just copy from an .nsf
and the capcom sound engine doesn't allow arpeggio or duty envelopes. Heck, I don't even copy from other games that use the same engine because there are ususally lots of useless and space-wasting commands lying around that I don't want to waste my space for.

Also, it's not like famitracker's instruments. You have an ADSR like control for volume, and you can only define vibrato speed and depth and tremolo speed and depth in the instruments themselves. You really just need to use Famitracker to create simple covers you use as a template and to see what notes you need to copy into the music code itself, because it's easier to compose music in a tracker than in a hex editor isn't it?

I'm not entirely sure what's the diffence between music hacking for mm3 and mm4 when it comes to pointers, matrixz can surely answer that question, but let me see that famitracker file, because it definitely needs to be simplified in order not to take up too much space

Take the direction bits value you want, and divide them by 4.

9217-9219 / 79227-79229 : Horizontal low speed table of Pharaoh Shot
921A-921C / 7922A-7922C : Horizontal high speed of pharaoh shots
921D-921F / 7922D-7922F : Vertical low speed of pharaoh shots
9220-9222 / 79230-79232 : Vertical high speed of pharaoh shots
