Just FYI: You should not put the <html> and <body> (nor should you put <head>) in posts.
Can you do more 'advanced' things in HTML other than just making links? |

You did ask me to elaborate...
What happens when somebody claims to know some better-than-basic knowledge or skill, such as "HTML beyond a simple <a>", then refuses to demonstrate this because he's "too lazy at the moment", it severely impacts that person's reputation. People would think that that person wasn't all that. The simple fact that you put your link inside <html> and <body> tags demonstrates your knowledge of basic HTML isn't all that to begin with -- everypony who knows basic HTML knows that there can be only one <html> and <body> tag per page, and since you're writing only part of a bigger complex (namely a messageboard's thread view), you'd know that those tags are already present. What other reason could there be to put those two tags there? Well, maybe you wanted to demonstrate knowledge of the fact you'd have to use those tags on a proper page? In that case, you still fall on your ass, because you've left out the header. Now, I know you can leave out the <head> tag and all it's supposed to contain and still have a technically "valid" page, but that's just too damn sloppy. The biggest problem here is that your "HTML knowledge" claim is not the only thing about you that's just plain wrong. My respect for you is at an all-time low, good sir.
