My password on a previous account in board2. Name: LacklusterAngel
Just send my password to the registered email. Unable to use IRC chat because I'm not the administrator of this account and can't authorize Java installation. |

You could have asked one of the admins via email, instead of registering a new account... just a friendly tip. ____________________ Kafuka -- ROM hacking Kuribo64 -- we hack shit |

Fairly certain passwords aren't stored as plaintext. They can change your password and email it to the address listed on your old account's profile, but that's all they can do. And if you used the same password for that email address... ____________________ we're currently experiencing some technical difficulties |

I find that to be a standard method of password recovery. Always thought it was curious that they changed my password and set the new one to me instead of telling me outright. |

Posted by IRequireHalps It'd be a standard with sites that have shitty security and store your passwords as plaintext. This board doesn't store your password as plaintext, but rather, it stores a MD5 hash of it, making it impossible to recover (unless it's unsecure and can be cracked by some online MD5 decrypter). ____________________ Kafuka -- ROM hacking Kuribo64 -- we hack shit |

Decrypter my ass, they use tables of MD5 hashes that they acquire by people who want to know what < (At least, this is a fairly reasonable thing to assume. If MD5 hashes could truly be decrypted directly to usable results...) ____________________ we're currently experiencing some technical difficulties |

Hello.@Greymario: Changing the password and then sending it feature, I meant. Not, sending you a stored password. Storing the plaintext passwords wouldn't be a good idea.
Also, help obtained. You can close the thread. ____________________ Cheesecake and pie are one and the same. |
