Fairly certain passwords aren't stored as plaintext. They can change your password and email it to the address listed on your old account's profile, but that's all they can do. I find that to be a standard method of password recovery. Always thought it was curious that they changed my password and set the new one to me instead of telling me outright. |

Posted by IRequireHalps It'd be a standard with sites that have shitty security and store your passwords as plaintext. This board doesn't store your password as plaintext, but rather, it stores a MD5 hash of it, making it impossible to recover (unless it's unsecure and can be cracked by some online MD5 decrypter). ____________________ Kafuka -- ROM hacking Kuribo64 -- we hack shit |

Decrypter my ass, they use tables of MD5 hashes that they acquire by people who want to know what < (At least, this is a fairly reasonable thing to assume. If MD5 hashes could truly be decrypted directly to usable results...) ____________________ we're currently experiencing some technical difficulties |

Hello.@Greymario: Changing the password and then sending it feature, I meant. Not, sending you a stored password. Storing the plaintext passwords wouldn't be a good idea.
