A Hack of Sonic the hedgehog 1 Sega Genesis by DarkonMK. contains 6 playable chars, Super mode, New/Remaked Levels, Menus, Megaman X Style Wall Jumping, And many more. after working on the project for nearly a year, I finally manage to finished it. Instantly the Best Hack I ever created.

Here, I shall summarise my overall thoughts upon playing this hack.
The music isn't good. When it isn't ported, it's bad. Or terrible. The ported music also varies in quality.
The level layouts aren't good. They reek of "I got bored and threw together some stuff in SonED". Some places become impossible to complete unless you have a good idea of what's going to happen. Furthermore, the "wall jump" is not "Megaman X style", and calling it such is a disgrace to X's name. The "spindash" is more the "spin in a circle and receive a light shove when done", although the obligatory peel-out seems somewhat misplaced.
The choice of characters is, in a way, impressive; but is excessive and stupid. Furthermore, including yourself as a playable character is generally frowned upon, not to mention pointless "dark" versions and random, unfitting characters.
The art is good in places, and either terrible or unchanged in the rest.

Finally, the writing of this summary caused the spilling of a cup of coffee onto a book I was reading and has thus led me to believe the game is possessed by some mysterious force and therefore should not be played until it is better.

Third, I know a dark version is a gay add-on, but it will be only be in V1.0. it was just Metal Sonic in Super disabled. Fourth, I'm good with rest. I will get better soon, is just that I'm out of ideas or rushing for the release date.

I'm not totally sure you understood everything roxahris was trying to get at. The problem with the level design isn't necessarily whether it's possible to beat or not. It's the quality of thought put into the design. There are some points when repeated small walls appear for no reason other then breaking up the movement, and there's big pink areas of who knows what that do nothing but block your vision of the character. In the video you posted, the end of the level involves a blind leap of faith over a wall of spikes to reach the goal. Blind leaps with dangers of death are never a good design, as it negates all need for strategy and forethought due to, as roxahris said, laziness.

A lot of the palettes needed some work, and the character selection, while original, lacks any coherency. A lot of the other stuff was already touched upon, but I would like to say that the wall grabbing technique doesn't suck. I'm glad to see you're willing to improve based upon critiques, but I'm worried about you basing game features off of what appears to be completely random ideas.

I suggest you run this by Sonic Retro for an in depth critique. There's something along the lines of a 90% chance that some people will be complete and utter douches when giving you advice, but the help they provide will be solid.

but I notice your right about the layouts, few look like the same paths, because I can't get more then 52 chunks. but I've been making this hack for nearly a year and learning ASM is hell. but i'll focus on the layouts next time.

Well... a quick comment before I get to saying anything about gameplay; in the gameplay demo video, why did you waste almost a minute before getting to the actual gameplay..? I say 'almost a minute' because you had about 5-10 seconds of useful video, and 50+ seconds of annoying padding where you just bounced the selector around on the menu screens doing nothing interesting and/or relevant to showing off the hack at all.

As MK said, those weird pink areas look like nothing but potential massive annoyances (ie: "FUCK WHERE AM I WHAT HIT ME WHAT'S GOING ON" etc), you may want to do without them...

Why are there pink Metal Sonic enemies..?

The first two screenshots in your opening post are rather pointless, too.

I did it to show one of the major features of my hack
(The Main Menu and Sonic 2 menu ports),
and the Fake Metal Sonic Clones are Pink because it shares the player's palette.
Not much room to add one.

Stop thinking you're right.

Two-bit refutals are all well and good, but they don't change the fact that several parts of your work just plain suck. Hell, they blow. They're ass, they're awful, and they're asinine. Sure, you may have something you're happy with now. But that's no excuse to not go and make it better.

Just because something can be regarded as an opinion doesn't make it wrong. Likewise, just because you don't understand something doesn't make it incorrect. It's like the ever-repeated story of the businessman and the engineer, one saying "Do this!" and the other saying "It can't be done!", and then a cycle of "You're lying! You can do it!" and "No, I can't! It's impossible!". Don't do that.

How is it? is kinda unfinished but it took a fuckton of hours to make it to the 90%.
the only thing lacking is the props and details.
