Here is a screenshot of what my game programming set up looks like. I'd be interested in seeing some other ways people organize their hacking.

This is what I usually have open. I also keep a tab open in my browser with a 6502 reference document. Although my ASM skills aren't that great, it helps to read it.

Awesome thread! Here's my setup at the very moment.
oh no TextMate is a great text managing tool. Macros and the tab system are really useful. 0xED is a Hex editor. What isn't seen however is X11, where I run most of my hacking tools (through WINE but yeah whatever) ____________________ oh |

The most recent activity is this. Nothing to exciting here. Just hex editing.
Am I the only one who still uses just the regular old fceu? |

Mine wouldn't be very interesting since I just fullscreen Notepad++ and minimize that for a little bit to compile and link, edit graphics, or test in FCEUX, going back and maximizing Notepad++ afterward

I think the most will look the same. An editor, and then probably FCEUX or something similar. This is how it may look when I do things. A little hex editing and alot yy-chr working. I also work with photoshop, yeah I have to when ripping graphics from Mega Man games on PlayStation

im no different then the rest of you guys. i just always only work directly with fceuxd's tools only. hex ed, code data logger, debugger, 2 notepad files with all the ram addresses and descriptions/information/what does what ...blah blah for megaman odyssey.

This is how I converted the MSX graphics to NES. I pieced together the MSX tiles into a blank rom which I view in 16color mode. Then I dumb down each tile to only 4 colors while still viewing it in 16 color "MSX" mode. Then when I copy and paste the tiles into my nes rom, they appear as they should.
