First off, you guys are nuts. "You Guys", I mean those people that are freaking awesome in Tetris and can last forever, even when the speed is at ludicrous.

So Tetris is out for the 360 and I decided to try it. Of course its gonna be as addicting as all the other Tetris games, so yea, I couldn't put it down at first. I am interested in trying the online co-op mode.

I'd be more interested in this if I had an XB360

I have Tetris DS which I STILL play daily. Along with Tetris GB and you are set for life. The two best Tetrises!

Damn you Nintendo fanboys.

The one thing that is missing: the dancing Russians on the top of the screen.

Plus the Tetris The Grandmaster series from Arika.
Although mastering Shirase Mode requires god-like reaction skills.

Tengen Tetris for NES also is also a very nice game.
But there's also Tetris The Grandmaster Ace out for the 360 - anyone played that yet ?
Hopefully it is much similar to TGM3, although I have no newer console at home ...

I don't know why... but I think I'm the only Tetris fan who doesn't like Tengen Tetris... It's something about the blocks being entirely solid (think the blocks from touch Tetris in Tetris DS). I don't think I'll ever be used to it but I'll consider playing it again just to see if it is actually a good game.

I don't appreciate being called a "fanboy", especially when I have neither a Gamecube, Wii, nor Playstation 2 (or 3).

(Nor an N64, but that's getting dated.)

I feel the same way Tanks, I like my blocks fragmented. I don't like Tengen Tetris either. And Tetris on Cellphones are big rips of Tetris DS, pisses me off. It has a Hold button, 5 in advance, same logo and other bullshit! >8(

Wow, poor choice of a game for Tetris to make.

They should've ported Terror Instinct (TGM Ace). I would've bought a 360 for that.

TGM: ACE is a Japanese XB360 game, and not TGM 3 (TI).

Then again, I haven't really been paying attention to the TGM games (go fucking figure, eh?).

TGM: ACE apparently came out for the 360 in Japan.

Dunno why they didn't release it here but odds are they thought people would hurl their controllers at their TV's.

From TGM experts in another channel, Arika is pretty much banned from releasing any TGM here because it doesn't conform to the Tetris Guidelines set by the Tetris Holding Company (or whatever).

They had a PS2 TGM ready and complete, but they were stopped from releasing it, and instead were only allowed to release a Tetris game on the worst-selling console in Japan.

Oh yeah, those... basically what HAS to be in every Tetris game.

Couldn't they technically just toss on a "normal" mode and satisfy that requirement, or do the guidelines have to be in ALL game modes?

Colin: I'm not so sure anymore. I'm still conversing with them (at least, one, heh) and so far it seems like there were various reasons they were unreleased in the US (Jap license only) or stuck entirely...

It's confusing, but needless to say Tetris has gone from a simple block-shifting game to a much more complicated one, in many ways

Theres several different versions of Tetris on cell phones. The 'Hold + 5 Ahead' version came out after TDS, because I remember it being listed on my phone as COMING SOON after I got TDS. Once it came out, I got it and it was the Hold + 5 and I was like "HAX!"

I know that infinite/easy spin is one of the guidelines now which is... yeah. :\

If Tetris DS is any indication, you'd probably need SOME traditional game modes with official rules.
