Instead of having multiple threads, please post your ASM hacks / custom blocks / custom sprites requests here.

Don't reqest the same thing again if nobody makes it for you.
Don't post it in a separate thread if nobody makes it for you.
Don't complain if nobody makes it for you. (Even if you really need it)
Learn how to do it yourself if nobody makes it for you.

So there.

OK then, let's see a real request:

A custom block, which, when hit from below, acts like a ? block but gives a random powerup (except star). But when Blue "P" is active, it gives a star only, and when Silver "P" is active, it gives a 1-up. If both are active, it breaks and gives 3 lives.

I'd like a set custom blocks that work like MikeyK's SMB3 pipes, only they can only be used if Mario is small, much like the ones that SWR added in with FuSoYa's SMB3 pipes.... (I find MikeyK's pipes to be MUCH better than FuSoYa's, so...) Thanks!

I'm wondering if there's a way that someone could make a block (or something else) that turns off the effects of the Special World. I think it would be awesome to hit the block in a level somewhere and then on the overworld, day has turned to night through the use of the Special Passed palettes.

That's actually a very good idea!
Take advantage from the RAM Address $7E:1EFB, it's that flag that indicates if Special World is passed or not.

Damnit, why didn't I think about this. That's honestly a grand idea!!

Thanks. However, I have no clue how to do any ASM/Hex. I really need to sit down one day and figure out some of that stuff. I had the idea when I was going to have Mario end up in the past somehow and I wanted it to look like he was in a black and white flashback. That idea never materialized but a day/night idea would be awesome. I'm just wondering whether or not the Special World effects can be cancelled or re-applied.

Most certainly, it's possible.
Can't think it'd be too hard to write a block with BlockTool that writes to that RAM address.

Blocktool doesn't write blocks, it just inserts them. You still have to do all the ASM work yourself.

Hrm. Pardon my mistake there.
I've never used BlockTool anyway but then again that's a pretty lousy excuse.

Sorry.

Ooh, I have a new request- A block that is normally solid, but when all enemies are defeated, you can pass through it. Kinda like those Yoshi Coin blocks in BlockTool (Which are actually backwards, by the way. The No Yoshi Coin Block won't let you through until 5 Yoshi Coins are collected, which is what the Yoshi Coin Block is supposed to do.). Is it possible to do that?

Not without a whole bunch of custom ASM to keep track of whether or not the enemies in question have been defeated.

....Oh. Well, I know there's some sprites that create things when all sprites on the screen have been defeated, so I figured it'd be easy to make a block that can be passable when you destroy all the sprites on-screen....

Hmmm.. Maybe something like this:
-If enemy stomped, add a Yoshi Coin.
-If Yoshi Coint amount =/> 5, do something.

That.... Wouldn't really work well. I'm already using the Yoshi Coin Blocks so I can have my "Silver Coin" idea (Collect all 5 Silver Coins in an area to gain access to the next area). Oh well. I guess I could use the Door Generator Sprite and have it make Block 25.....

Well first off, you uploaded the image in a bad format. Look at all of those dots.
Secondly, you are aware that is a female bomb-omb soldier in your avatar right? It was effected by the pink mushroom.

I was inspired by it to do this, but it has no more business with this. And yes, I am aware of it.
