This hack was originally called --Zelda shards of might--. It was made by Omega, who made all the dungeons, and Seph, who made the outside world. This game could be the best after Parallel worlds, regarding originality, but unfortunately it was bugged. Zelda didnt appear in the guardhouse. This could be fixed, but the first dungeon was heavily bugged. Luckily Francais from France removed those major bugs. He called the hack --Zelda link to the future chapter 3--. But the game was still bugged. Some exits and all jumps diagonally-down would crash the game. It was again unsolvable. I have removed all mentioned bugs and have made new gameplay. Two dungeons were extended. There were a lot of bugs inside dungeons. This was fixed. Sometimes the logic of the dungeon was false, plus you really dont know, if you should search for pendants or crystals. All this was fixed. Enjoy this debugged hack. Regards. In my text editor the letters are very small.
So I wrote the text in caps lock. Now I did the copy paste, so the text is big. Plus, you must excuse my english, which is very basic. |

Doesn't your text editor have settings about the font it uses?

You probably don't have the same original rom as I.
There are a lot of versions (US, Europe, header, no header). My original rom was created on March 28 1996. I've done some checking. I've patched the following ips files to the original rom: Zelda - Gates of Darkness, Goddess of Wisdom, Legend of Iced Hyrule, Lyra Islands. All roms work fine in both emulators (Zsnes and Snes9x). Is there anyone who doesn't have problems and can play/load the patched rom normally. If so, make a post. |

Hi Trax,
I've sent you the email to trax  bwass.org.
This file works (with SNES emulators). PS Uips is only for Mac operating sistem, Nestopia in a NES emulator, you need a SNES emulator. I'm using Lunar ips for patching and Zsnes or Snes9x to play (and Windows OS). |

fileden is absolute shit. to sign up, they force you to put in an address and phone number then make you go through 7 pages of crap to buy. also, all the links are broken and don't work.
can you please upload this file to multiupload.com so people have a choice of where they would like to download this from? personally I prefer mediafire but one upload to multiupload.com sends it to 5 or 6 of the best filesharing sites at once. |

Shortcuts to v1-6 don't work. This will be fixed soon. |

Puzzle, where are the boots? I can't open the big chest in the orphanage next to the blue switch blocks in the 3rd room. I see there is a red color switch in the same room but I don't know how to hit it because there are cannons in the way. I have 3 crystals and am missing the fire rod (where is that one?). I did some searching and found the flute which was VERY hard to get because the house next to the orphanage has the twinkle twinkle little star tiles on the floor but they don't work and if you pay attention to one of the lamps, it sparkles so it was a wrong sprite for the color switch in there.

You are a good player.
You've done everything correct. You can't get to that chest or the pegswitch yet. That's for later. Plot ahead ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Cool, that you found the flute. The stars always indicate that something is hidden. This is new compared to the original game. Well, if you step on the filled star and throw the boomerang to the other filled star, it will hit the pegswitch. But if you are standing on the empty star, you will hit the right torch. If you throw it to the left torch with empty star, nothing happens. So thats what the stars are for. If you look closely you can see the sparkle from pegswitch, which is hiding in the torch. This was planed, but I agree it is difficult. Nice you found it without help. Well, you got the flute, so go outside and play it (anywhere), you'll see what happens. Do some exploring with the flute, and you'll come to the next dungeon (which is my favourite), but fill all bottles with fairies or potion and fill you arrows to the maximum. When inside the dungeon your questions about the missing elements will be answered. But again, when you see the star, search. (Don't step on it, nothing will happen.) Usually this means lifting up everything or hammering or hitting everything in that room. missed (Link stands on an empty star)

PS In rare situations you can hit from empty star too. |

Any clue on what number to go next with the flute? I completed the hidden moth/church dungeon, forest, and water to get what I need but it seems I need the boots to be able to do anything else in the game. I thought it was a programming error because I went back to just about every building to see if there was something I was missing. |

Use the bird and fly to number 8.
This will get you to the closed water-thing area, that you couldn't enter from outside. You can enter in the strange statue (this is actually an entrance). This is the south dungeon. Fill your bottles with fairies and fill the arrows. PS You don't need the boots yet. 
Added The tedious thing in this dungeon is the semi boss (big eye). But don't give up. Just fill him with arrows. If you get defeated three times, (the fairies return the health after you are defeated) this is normal. The other difficult thing is the area with the star, where something is hidden (like the peg switch)... and maybe the final boss. But globally I think that this is an awesome dungeon, mostly done by Omega, but I've remodeled it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dragonx has started a let's play sequence of this game on You tube.
