Personally I would like to see (better) editors for Super Mario World 2 (There's eggvine but it's very out of date and is long abandoned), Snake Rattle n Roll (Which I started some hacking effort on, but stopped due to lack of time) and Ducktales for NES. I actually plan to hack one of those soon again...

Any games you would like to see game editors for, or a overhauled editor where the current ones sucks?

I should get back to work on Garry, as far as overhauls are concerned.

There are a couple of games I've always wanted to edit. The first is a platformer/shooter hybrid by the name of XEXYZ. The game is sort of a metroid-style adventure platformer with side scrolling shooter segments in between the levels. Awesome game.

The second is another platformer called Bugs Bunny Birthday Blowout. I know, I know. I'm nuts. But hey, it's another game I grew up with and IMO one great platformer altogether!

I would like to see these:
  • GB Donkey Kong (I started hacking this once, but the compression scheme was a pain to work with)
  • Kirby's Dream Course
  • Kirby Super Star (With all of the Japanese hack videos, you'd think there would be an editor somewhere on the Web, but none have surfaced)
  • Stunt Race FX (I made a video of the shortest track I could make with the existing pieces. It a long time to build even this, as I had to keep testing the ROM to see if I got the coordinates correct.)
Other games I would like to see editors for are the Donkey Kong Country games and Super Mario All-Stars. I didn't include these in my main list because there are already editors being made--Donkey Kong Country Resource Editor for the former and MushROMs for the latter.

No more Mario, no more Megaman, and more NES games...
I started working on Marble Madness, but it got the madness out of me in no time...

#1 Hebereke/Ufouria
#2 Mickey 3 - Dream Balloon/MM3DB Proto Version/Kid Klown (NES)
#3 Crazy Castle Series (NES,GB,GBA),
#4 Super Mario 2/USA/DDP
#5 Super Mario 1 and 2/Japan
#6 Kid Kool (NES)
#7 Psycho Fox (Master System)
#8 Magical Hat and Decap Attack (Genesis)
#9 Journey to Silius - Rough World (NES)
#10 Garfield's Labyrinth (GB)

I wouldn't mind seeing a new and improved level editor for Megaman/Rockman 2, as the ones I have are either in Japanese, or they mess up the ROM. In fact, I'd like to see a Megaman 2 level editor similar to MegaFLE.

Here are more:
-Ninja Gaiden 1.2. & 3
-Silver Surfer
-TMNT 1,2, & 3

And for the SNES:
-Mega Man 7
-Mega Man X1. X2, X3
-Super Castlevania 4
-Castlevania: Dracula X
-Contra 3
-DKC 1, 2, 3

Blackthorne (SNES and/or GBA)
Super Mario Land (any of them)
Wario Land 2 (Gameboy Color)
Megaman The Wily Wars (Genesis)
And Megaman X, X2 or X3.

@marcum81: An incredible (Like, Lunar-Magic incredible) DKC1(/2/3) Editor is under development by one of the most phenomenal reverse engineers of our time. You can find more info by Googling Simion32.
@Matrixz: There are two editors for Super Mario Land 2. I think there's one for Megaman X too but don't count on my word.
Also, An editor for Wily Wars was under development long ago. No idea what happened to it. I remember the guy was Japanese but was good in English.

As for myself, obviously Chalvo 55, mostly for the simplicity of the format and the fact that Puzzle games appeal to the hacking community often because of their nature.
Then, of course, Super Mario Land 2. I, in fact begun hacking Super Mario Land 2 a long long time ago, back when I was known as 'Raccoon Sam' and hoped to have a complete disassembly by the end of 2009. But I didn't. I also played a significant part on the development of MooJelly, a SML2 editor (which isn't really all that good...). Maybe one day I'll live in that utopia where a good SML2 editor is born. (Shameless plug.) Super Mario Land 2's level/graphics format is also essentially the same as Super Mario Land 3: Wario Land.
I also agree with Ailure on the SMW2 statement. Maybe one day...

EDIT: SUTTE HAKKUN ALSO OH FFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUU

Any of the Kirby platformer games really.

I know the older games are crammed full of esoteric compression formats but I doubt that the GBA/DS/etc ones would be so insane.

I would absolutely love to see an editor for The Illusion of Gaia/Time or Terranigma on the SNES.

I really would like to see a editor for Go! Dizzy Go! (NES) and CJ's Elephant Antics (NES too) both comes with a 4 in 1 cart from Codemasters called Quattro Arcade.

2 years ago MottZilla hacked Go! Dizzy Go! (previous hacked as a single game, but with Camerica mapper ) making it run for UNROM. Since this my good friend Dizzy9v2 has been researching around the ROM. He managed to discover lots of things, the problem? He doesn't know how to make editor. He even made a harder edition of game, but I Would like to try make a hack making new levels.

@Kiiro: Good to see someone working in this! Due the "democratization of GBA emulation" (thanks to Exophase's open source gpSP) in every Chinese PMP We could play our SMA4 hacks in everywhere! Thanks man!

Oh god, someone else finally noticed the potential with Illusion of Gaia.

Id like to see a editor for Brainlord(Snes). I got a little far on my own, being able to make my own shops, and custom chests. But that was about it. I got that far with the corruption method.
I also decoded(or whatever its called) the text, and made a .tbl for it on my own.
Was a big pain, but it made me proud that I could get that far with no tools and just a hex editor xD

I made ISD SMBUtility 2 years ago. It's sad that there is no offical SMB2 Japanese editors here.

It's a modified version of the English SMB Utilty with SMB2J items.

It's also sad that there aren't any SMB2J hacks except my own 2.
