Yea you read right, NSFW. Not suitable for minors either, at all.

With that out of the way, let me say that this place in particular should be proud that this game exists, as it is dedicated to an old member of an acmlm board, who partially inspired me to make it. This person has most likely moved on though, that was over 3 years ago.

What you got here is an original computer game, compatible with Windows XP / Vista / Windows 7. At it's heart it's basically a point & click adventure game, also with some RPG elements. All the art and sound effects are handmade. Infact everything about this game is handmade. The storyline features characters from my ROM-hacks in addition to new characters.

Well, at least at an earlier age anyways.
That's kinda the problem, isn't it? What age do think Kyo is? Or Jomb?

I'm responding to this here, because i dont want to hijack Kyo's thread.

I'm a senior citizen. Clearly you have not played my game. You see genitals and a synapse fires off in your brain going "boobies!" or "penis!" and like a Pavlov dog saliva flows. But this game isnt about any of that. That's only the vehicle. You are missing the point. This is art my friend. Boundry pushing art. This is one man's journey to hell and back.

It's funny. Earlier today I was having a little rant about how people like you and Kyo are so incredibly purile, and I explicitely stated that you'd be all defensive, as if your productions were some sort of Art.

Well, I said it then, and I guess I'll say it here where you can read it: they're not. Get off the high horse and try making something most people would agree is a good hack.

Also, I will never play any of your games. This is not a Saw movie.

Edit: "Clearly you have not played my game. You see genitals and a synapse fires off in your brain going "boobies!" or "penis!" and like a Pavlov dog saliva flows."
What the hell is that supposed to imply? That I'd actually enjoy seeing these crappy excuses for hacks? That it's somehow not normal for people to "fire the 'penis' synapse" when they see one?

The live action sequences were the best part to that video.

The game doesn't look particularly impressive from a graphical or technical point of view, and the "add weird action choices with outcomes you wouldn't see in a commercial game" pattern has been applied to point-and-click adventures often enough now that you could consider it an utterly overused meta-joke with a massive beard.

So you correctly guessed that someone would be defensive when the art they spent years working on is called purile by someone who hasnt even played it? Congratulations on that one. The art in this game is hand-drawn, it took me ages. The sound in the game is not canned sound, I actually went out and recorded it myself. I hand-coded this thing from scratch. It took years. The game engine is my own work. The puzzles in the game are all original, they are well thought out and rather challenging. There is a definite artistic statement here. It's not my fault if you're too close-minded to even give it a shot. That's the thing about art, it's not really about what most people agree on, that's marketing and focus groups, art is about following your muse. Do you think the Cabaret Voltaire cared about what most people agreed was art? They ended up making some of the most intrugueing art in the world, precisely because they didnt.

My statement was not meant to imply anything, it was direct statement. And it said that you immediately thought this was meant to titilate or arouse, when in fact this game is not about that at all. Maybe it is completely normal for people to dismiss things without trying them and to assume they know of what they speak without any real basis for that. Maybe I over-estimate people.

"What the hell is that supposed to imply? That I'd actually enjoy seeing these crappy excuses for hacks?"
This is not a hack.

Like I said, this a game which is about one man's journey to hell and back. Yes it's shocking, but what would you expect hell to be like? A rose garden?

edit to respond to other comment - I didnt include too many captures from the game as I didnt want to give away too much of the plot or the solutions to too many of the puzzles. From a technical point of view, it takes point & click one step further with the addition of some RPG elements and the way in which the game meticulously keeps track of your behavior so that you get judged at the end. You also get awarded special endings depending on if you made some sort of achievement during play. This made the ending rather complex, it took me many months just getting all 25 or so possible endings together. Many of the puzzles have multiple solutions and things you do early on have major impacts on the game in later parts. On top of the novelty I suppose in someone who does ROM-hacks actually creating a real game. The Rape option was added in as a personal challenge, like the info says, the game is very beatable without ever using it. It's there for the player to make up their own mind on. But yes, you will be judged if you do use it.

I was talking about the rom hacks you and Kyo have been making, up to now. In case you were too far up your high horse to see.

Do you think Voltaire would have added a rape feature to a game. Well, as said by blackhole, not particularly impressive. Ignoring the annoyance of everything I'd say you did alright. Good luck with your "art" ever being perceived as exceptional. I've seen this kind of thing in a way that makes you weep for its beauty, this does not accomplish that.

You are confusing Voltaire and Cabaret Voltaire. Voltaire was a philosopher from the 1700's. The Cabaret Voltaire was a collective of artists from around 1916 who started an art movement which became Dada.
My art is not classically beautiful, I'm aware of that. My artistic idol is R. Crumb, my drawings will likely never be as good as his, but they accomplish my goals, and are distinctively my style.

I will post the same thing I posted on a different forum

I just don't get it why is one persons time hacking worth more than another person time hacking. It's the same shit and no matter what, you will have some people playing it around the world and liking it. People that don't like it will not play it no matter what. I think it is about time to stop thinking our shit don't stink as a hacker community. We should be trying to foster a community that not only accepts different opinions but encourages it. We should also stop putting people/hacks down because we are just hurting the rom hacking community. I mean there are so few of us already we all should be sticking together.

@Kawa actually I think it is others that need to get off their high horse and accepting others opinions and choices; after all it is his game he has creative control, but I like your thought pattern some people are definitely being arrogant and presumptuous.

@Jomb/Hax0rKyo keep up the good work we need more people that think outside of the box!!!
