Great to finally see Mega Man X getting some love from the hacking community. Now if the guy over at RHDN would give some updates on his level editor, I'd be a very happy gamer. I always envisioned an editor for X similar to SMILE for Super Metroid.... well, I guess that's what I'm hoping for. I'd love to see some hacks of this game. |

I just remembered about this board and was going to post a little bit on the Mega Man X3 project, but seems Thanatos-Zero beat me here to. In either case, I'd thought I'd post a little something to peak more interest on MMX hacking.
For right now, we've found out the first half of Blast Hornet's levels enemy placements and events. The screen scrolling itself was an event, didn't fully realize that. We've also got some work on the first level and we're figuring out how tiles are worked. On a semi related note, seems like the Sprite Assembly for characters work the same way as tiles. There's some bytes for one to two tiles, then there's one byte that pulls in a whole slew of tiles put together. It's pretty interesting. For features right now that are currently there, including ones not in the demo that was released a month or so back, here: 1. Switch to Zero anytime except events he can't be or shouldn't be there. 2. Zero can still "get damaged" when you get the Beam Saber, rendering him unplayable. 3. Zero can Air Dash when he gets the foot capsule. This may be changed. 4. Zero can use sub-weapons, though some are bugged right now. 5. COMPLETELY separate track listing for X and Zero. This was accidental but now if we can import new music, X and Zero can have completely separate sound tracks. 6. Z-Saber damage is nerfed down a lot so it's not so overpowered. It varies on bosses. 7. X and Zero have separate boss themes. 8. Zero can receive armor benefits from the armor capsule, but no forcefield appears. 9. The game remembers what character beat what level. If you beat it with Zero, the next level you WILL start off as Zero. Though, this is bugged. X's life is automatically set to 0, which can be fixed. Zero loads X's max life, and his icon is wrong. This is one of the biggest bugs we have. Once that's fixed, we'll be fixing sub-weapons and then flip flop events a bit more and voila, it should be almost ready. 10. Zero can use Ride Armors, though it loads X's sprites. We also have a whole slew of notes on miscellaneous things in MMX3. Once the next demo or the full version is ready, we'll release all of our notes to the public in a hopefully organized manner. Hopefully this will shed more light on MMX2 and MMX3 hacking. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTFacGXgvvM - And the music difference to show it works. I'll do that right now and that's what I plan on doing. A lot of people are for Double Jump or for Air Dash so it's hard to choose. I may just have him get double jump from this capsule, but the "Golden" one will also give him the ability to Air Dash. |

Insectduel needs to try out Chiko's Rockman God World 3 for a challenge.
As long it's for Rockman 4, I think. Even though it look stupid for a bad creator and a bad sprite artist. |

Hello everyone! I have not kept up with a lot of the awesome hack on the site, because of school and similar. I do know Mega Man Forever cancel due to whiners, and that infidelity is working on fighter Mega Man game. Rockman 4 Minus Infinity recently had a new demo released, like sometime in the August month correct? Also, I do not know if Kuja Killer still here or not, but did u get confidence to keep work on ur hack? I hope so, as it look amazing hack. I say a lot of people here should go work for Capcom.
Also question. Any hack for NES emulator that can make MM9 and MM10 content? I not have money for new gen systems so those choice irrelevant |

Hello i have a question,
How do i change the blocks behavior?(TSA?) In flashman, the blocks are:back, solid, ice and ladder Does anyone know the offset for change them.(For all the stages, i mean). |

Posted by The-doggy I know what you mean! According to my research, RAM $32 and $33 reads TSA Solidity data for each level. For Flashman's level. $00 - Nothing $01 - Solid $07 - Ice $02 - Ladder I haven't got time to find the ROM Offset for FlashMan's level but it is somewhere. |

What editor did you use? I can tell that you didn't use Visine because they have the weaknesses for bosses. Except Crash, Metal and Flash which cause glitches with Visine so DON'T EDIT. Unless you make backups.
For me, I use FCEUX to find it easy. Whenever I face a boss, I use all weapons to find the specific boss damage offset. Test it with Wily 5. Use the Code/Data Logger to start searching. USE ALL weapons with 1 boss. Let's say I want 4 Damage. Then pause the game and save as. OR open FCEUX the hex editor and view rom file. Then find the damage set highlighted in blue which is 04, EDIT and save rom. According to the rom file, each weapon damage is set by different enemies and bosses. Good luck. |

Posted by Insectduel Hhhmmm....that's useful, i should use fceuxd more often I know, visine was the cause of the glitches of my game so i'm not using it anymore(except for the sprite graphics, i know how edit them with hex but it's complicated for me). EDIT:oh! finding the values is harder than i thought, i just found crashman's weakness, but i'm still searching the rest. Probably i'm going to write a document about edit the boss weakness manually, so other people can edit them easily!. WOW, that was great. I really hope someone is interested to edit the weakness manually without using Visine. Like I said, the last 3 weapons cause glitches because of the Flash Weapon has no damage set. Fx3 should be more careful.
Also, Chiko hack #20 I'm not a fan of this whole God World series but at least a decent Rockman 6 (not Mega Man VI) hack has been added. I may want to do the playthrough entirely whenever I feel like it. EDIT: Direct link corrected. |
