Just want to point out that Protoman has underwear on his running sprite LOL.
I would really want to fix that & also give his scarf the yellow color. SO I just discovered a way to fix



Locate the protoman in yy-chr, use his grey palette and the tip tool and edited it out.
Also use protomans skin pallete and edit his scarf whatever editor you use you need to recolor that scarf.
Shouldn't be hard for you to do, the rest I'll let someone else give you advice on.

Might anyone know where the offset is for adjusting Mega Man's speed for climbing a ladder in Mega Man 2 to be more like Mega Man 3-6? I could've sworn there was a patch for this somewhere that someone had already made but I was unable to locate it.

I'm pretty sure the climbing speed is faster in the later 4 games. Kuja Killer is the guy to ask about MM3, I'm not sure where the offset is but I'll take a look in FCEUX later today on both ROMs to see if I can find the value(s).

Only got involved in this discussion because of Amarcum81 being my good friend. Yes, the climbing speed in Megaman 3-6 was much faster than in 2, although if I remember correctly 2 was faster than 1's climbing speed. Would be nice to improve 2 to be more like 3-6. Glad the Protoman project continues =-)

@Duke2go, Good to see you here my friend! Yes, climbing speed is definitely faster in 3-6. I just played a few Rockman 2 ROM hacks where the climbing speed is noticeably faster. So I'm going to open the ROM up again and see if I can track the correct offsets down where this might be located.

Using my "megaman 3 improvement" hack as the "base"
Rom is upgraded to 768 KB for more graphics and coding space.

Still MMC3 mapper, dont have to change that at all whatsoever, just leaving it as it is.

Do you wish for it to continue ?? Or not neccessary ?

I revised the intro script, because lore is good.

"It is the year 20XX. After being defeated twice by Megaman,
the villian Dr. Albert W. Wily finally came to his senses and
realised what terror he caused to the world in his rivality
against Dr. Thomas Light."

"Now reformed and willing to atone for his misdeeds Dr. Wily
rejoined Dr. Light to help him on the new project "Gamma",
the gigantic peace-keeping robot. It was the long time dream
of his friend to preserve world peace and Gamma was the means to it."

"With the research almost done, 8 new robots were constructed,
which were sent to uncharted planets in order to mine the newly
discovered energy elements necessary for Gamma's completion"

"However, each planet met with an unexpected incident.
The robots which were mining for the energy elements suddenly went berserk!
Hearing the news from Dr. Light, “Megaman” immediately set out to the uncharted planets,
but not alone. This time he would be supported by his new friend Rush the robot dog.
A new chapter of Megaman's story was about to begin!!"

I plan on branding this as "megaman 3 improvement" Version 2.0
"Only if" this person will let us borrow the graphics.

Otherwise i wont continue this at all until then...

I'll make sure to credit him in the updated readme / change log, and you guys about the text.

I had a couple other minor edits to add too. Some things i did on Odyssey before, i'll do on here. Just "un-used" stuff from original mm3 rom i mean.

I tried using Youtube's messaging system to send you the sprites I made for the intro, but I've never used it before so it might have not sent. Which is why I'm glad to talk through email!

Anywho, here is a link to the sprites I converted for the intro to this email. Unfortunately, this does not include the planets/explosions, as they were done by MegaManUSA.

While I'm familiar with Sprites Inc., I do not post on either board- I'm actually pretty weak at spriting, and was only able to make these by converting composited images from the OVA "Upon a Star".

While I can try my hand at additional graphics, I'll admit up front I'm a slow worker and that images without a base (such as if you wanted new images of the Doc Robot) would be more difficult/might come out looking strange.

Still, I love the idea of a Mega Man 3 hack with new additions like this, so I hope the best for this project, and will try and provide additional help if I can."

I've been trying to locate Mega Man 5 graphic data for the title screen (Tile and Location) in the rom, and I'm just not finding it.

I've tried several places, but I can't find the tiles and I can't find the pointers for where they go. If anyone happens to know what offset these start at, that would be a huge help.

(and if you could tell me how you found it that would be even better)
