Does someone know, whenever MatrixZ (or however the creator of MegaFleX is called) is still active in the hacking scene? I liked his MegaFleX so much that I would love to see something similar to that for MegaMan 2 as well, because rock5easily's RockMan 2 editor is extremely limited...I cannot even change the sprite bakns like I can with MegaFleX, leading to many troubles when editing the third Wily Stage...

He's a member here and still around sometimes. As for Mega Man 2, a lot of things work differently than it did in later Mega Man games - adding support for that game in MegaFLE X would require a lot of work. Level data, for example, is totally different.

As for editors, you should fire up DOSbox and use Visine, which has more features than rock5easily's editor. It's a tiny bit buggy, so be sure to save and make backups often, but otherwise it's really good and easy to use. Assuming you're talking about sprite graphics for each scroll map position, then yes - you can change that in this editor too. Be sure to look at the readme file for hotkeys and such - some features can only be accessed by those. Additionally, there's a help file available, though it's not included in the download and it's in the old Windows Help format. You can get it here.

In that sense, he might be better off using a hypervisor, if his computer can support it.

That would work just as fine, yes. Not everyone has access to that though, and personally I would find it more annoying to run a VMM than firing up DOSbox.

Is there a way, be it through Game Genie codes or hex editing, to make the fully-charged Mega Buster in Mega Man 7 do 3 damage like in all the other games instead of just 2 damage?

(Forgive me if this has been covered elsewhere, although I don't think it has.)

So I had a few questions about Mario 3 hacking. I know that the rom exists for the lost levels in Mario 3, but I was wondering how I apply those changes/access those levels in Mario 3 Workshop. I've already hacked almost every level in the first world. But I'd love to do all the lost levels as well. To make the game have more levels, and more practice/getting better at making levels on my end. Also, with the Mario 3 TSA editor, can someone explain to me how that works. I'm so confused that I don't even know where to begin.

Edit-I didn't see where I posted this until it was too late, can a mod please delete this? I'm sorry for the confusion.

I just set a $5 ad campaign on Facebook promoting a NEW Rockman 1 hack called Rockman Gaiden which just released today via 2ch. If you like my Facebook fanpage, the "Sponsored" ad will appear on the news feed for the next 3 days.

Link

You need the Japanese Rockman 1 rom to apply the IPS patch, not Mega Man. The author is Sophia whose also did the Rockman 2 hack called Rockman 2 GX.

I tried it out! It's not bad, although some of the songs are a little short. But it's Rockman 1, so you can excuse a little of stuff like that.

Advice for anyone playing: Fire Man's weapon takes out the Pickaxe dudes in one hit! Really useful in Wily 2.

I haven't beaten it though, Wily Stage 4 is hard.

I recognize a good number of the songs, but I don't know the Wily Stages except for Stage 3 and I don't know Bomb Man and Ice Man. Hmmm.

Recently I've been transforming MM7 & 8 bosses into 8-bit via YY-CHR, and want to implement them into my hack in one way, shape, or form.

My issue; the three color pallet restriction. Now, I have been able to make the robots in such a way that I only needed three colors. Take Tengu Man for example.

I simply just removed his legs, and WHALA! 8-Bit Tengu Man was born! Although... I also had to remove the sword that was originally behind his back. It just didn't look right in all white.

Same thing goes for Cloud Man.

Sadly, can't say that about other robot masters that I made...

YACK! *shivers* It looks HORRIBLE!

I'm trying to stay away from the MM7 & 8 8-bit remakes because I want to test my 8-bit making skills.
Now on to my question.
According to MegaFLE, there are 377 sprites. (0xFF) BUT! There are 60 blank and "-" named sprites. (0x3C)
Can any of you guys explain to me how I can find where these blank sprites are located in the rom, and how to give them an actual CHR sprite? I don't want to give them a hit box or anything like that. I just want to use them so I can make better detailed sprites of the MM7 & 8 robot masters using the Sprite Layering technique.

I think I might know how to fix this problem. Make two sprites work together like Mega Man himself. Don't know if this'll help, but it's a start, I guess. Wait, forget what I said. I'm being redundant.

Going down:
3872E: left half
38730: right half

Going up:
386EF: left half
386F1: right half

What that means is, those bytes are put together for the speed.
default "going down" speed is FF.40 --- lower makes it faster
default "going up" speed is 00.C0 --- higher makes it faster

I am making rapid progress but I still don't know how to program music into the game. I know this may be an outrageous request but if there is ANYONE who would like to compose the music and insert it into the game(or however you say that) please do so. I want this hack to be something special and I know for those who have read my posts before I know I say that a lot but I honest to god mean it this time.
Thanks: 32x1000

I took the liberty of adding "[/img]" tags so that we don't have to copy paste these up.

Looks pretty decent so far. I would offer to help but I've been kinda busy lately...

No problem. If you want to fix your post all you need to do is put after the link, like
