Hey could anyone re-write the Dragonoid sequence so the screen scrolls up instead of right?
I know it would be alot of ASM. But at least point me in the right direction? |

Posted by MegaGEN50 Your probably going to have to try and learn NES ASM yourself to accomplish what your asking.. I'm actually trying to understand/learn it my self right now so I can implement the "slide" into Megaman 2. I believe romhacking dot net and data crystal have some documents to get you started. I did a Google search to help get me headed in the right direction, you might want to do the same if your serious about learning assembly. Then again, there are some really good hackers around here who know their stuff when it come to hacking Mega Man games. If one has the time they may help you out. |

KujaKiller and Infidelity have helped me out quite a bit in the past. But both of them are pretty busy with their own projects and probably very limited on working on anything else. I'm sure they have already seen your post and would/will reply when they get a chance.
Insectduel has also helped me out with various things. But If I heard correctly, he's no longer hacking. If your looking for someone to actually code what your asking, that probably wont happen unfortunately. But they may know of some updated documents/tutorials on ASM to help get you started. ASM takes time, and some of us never have the time to devote to understanding and learning it. I've been trying to learn it for awhile now and have yet to actually code anything worth mentioning here. Have you posted over at RHDN? Are you working on a hack of MM2 or just wanting to get started on one? EDIT: I use the Rock2Edit (Megaman/Rockman 2 level editor) I've never used any other editor and don't mess with scrolling options to much in the hack I'm currently working on. I'm not sure if what your asking could be done with an editor or not. It might be possible in one of the other level editors??? Not sure. Also, I believe the ASM or AI of that boss would have to be modified as well to accommodate the new scrolling scheme. |

I'm only limited working on romhacking projects about 5 hours a day in between Rockman 1 and SMB3 for Super Mario All-Stars. Now, for those that are Mega Man IV gamers or hackers out there, Yosaku started created minor IPS patches for use for your projects. I've seen Puresabe and Matrixz used it in different codings. Yosaku's Minor hacks IPS page I haven't started opening or trying out the patches in regional versions of Mega Man IV. But if you want Mega Man IV for (U) or (E), depending on the Jumps to Rom addresses of how the code is created knowing NES 6502 ASM is required. EDIT (5/16/13): I was mistaken for the wepaon select with the SELECT BUTTON! This quickly change the speed for Rush in the Weapon menu. Works in all regional versions of Mega Man IV but it's wise to use bytes of a code to a document. If I would use the FCEU debugger I would not allow to use rush sprites when choosing any of Rush's weapons. |

Insect, do you know teleporter data on Mega Man 2/Rockman 2?
I want to remake the teleporter level so that it is a linear boss sequence. I need that, right? |

You mean like from Rockman Deus Ex Machina?
I don't have high knowledge for Mega Man II hacking. I only know Mega Man 1 and Mega Man IV but I quickly know how about debugging codes. But I can't do anything at the moment. |

Graphical Help?
Ok, so I'm new to this forum, but not to Megaman hacking. The request I "bring to the table" today, is for all you graphic editors out there. I'm trying to make a Megaman 3 hack, and plan to edit the graphics with it. My artistic skill... sucks. And trying to use YY-CHR gives me a headache, so, if there's anyone that can do it, it will be greatly appreciated. I'm the only one working on this project, so any help/ advice would be appreciated... again. PEACE! |

Here's another question, for all you crazy Megaman hackers everywhere...
Can I "add" more graphics? Using Megaman 3 for example (because that's the game I'm trying to hack) In hex, or ASM, can I add more graphics to all the Robot Master Stages? I extend he bytes from the last offset of Shadowman's Graphics, will it add more? If you guys know, pwease tell me. |

not quite exactly.
it's possible, but by "default" you cant use more graphics than 256 tiles provided for each stage, becaue then you'd have to write custom code from scratch to swap out graphic pages with others. Only a few places actually do that, like.. Gemini man -- the transition from the protoman appearance, to the underground area. uhhh im not sure what else does exactly. i forget |

Posted by Gavzilla1000 You mean for exmple 512 tiles instead of 256? Iam not sure, but i doubt that is possible. However like Kuja Killer said, i guess its possible to update the tile screen when you come to a certain place at the stage. Like Mega Man 5 does. |

Posted by mickevincent Mega Man 5 has many useful features for ASM hacking like Animated Background, Switching Background, etc that you need only change the value in RAM $EA and $EB. Also Mega Man 5 has 'instant' CHR bank switching for enemy sprites. I'm wondering if I can do that in Mega Man 3 or 4, and I saw Kuja Killer and Infidelity made a such thing in their MM3 and MM4 project. (Odyssey and Ultra 2) |

Quite a conversation I started.
Anyway, what is a good Megaman game to start of with? 3, 4, 5, or 6? Those games in particular, because I'm used to the editor. (MegaFLE X) I started of with Megaman 3 tho, because that was the game I could easily edit the graphics. (As in they weren't all over the place.) I think I'm getting ahead of myself. I'm to do all these advanced to expert things like ASM, custom graphics, and music. |
