Glad you liked it Shiva. yeah, I agree it is a little to get used to (I wanted to put a game over state in when you fell down into 99% of holes) in essence I have done that but it is a bit awkward (most of the time it teleports you to a random spot). If I ever release a version 1.2 falling into holes will take 20 hearts damage(ie instant death), thus keeping effect I was going for of (save states are required).....it would be easily fixed if page headers were not limited (quick asm change to take 20 hearts damage instead of 1/4 heart, then change all the rooms to take damage on pit fall....but not that easy because of rom limitations, when MathOnNapkins release a stable BlackMagic that does the job I will go back and take care of business

Nah i like the holes and if the game is played the way i want it to be played (ie you have to save state all over the place) it is not a problem as i said if I replace the functionality with instant death i in essence keep the same game (because you will be forced to save state all over but it is a bit cleaner)

I fail to understand why you want save state abuse in your hack. What that says to me is that it isn't designed all that well and has really cheap difficulty. I'm pretty sure that if you keep it like that, people who aren't very patient will damn near refuse to even touch your hack.

Also, from a graphical prospective, you should work on shading your tunic sprites because they don't look very appealing as a solid color.

Yes it's true, saving often is just a habit to get. And it's something new and fun to using bombs like that ! But I wonder how you will fix this because some holes are needed like the first one in link house.

it should be an easy fix once current rom limitations are counter acted by mathonnapkins black magic release....problem is you can't have a header for each room currently (the header of each room lets you say if the holes kill you or teleport you....and the default is teleport where the default should be kill.)

I designed the game to require game saves and with hard difficulty because game saves are overly available. That way game saves can't be exploited to make game overly easy, because they are required for normal play. I think it makes total sense.

No... That makes no sense whatsoever. I don't see how you could abuse a RAM save like a save state, a RAM save returns you to specific locations, like overworld locations and dungeon entrances, even then, it only lets you use places you've been, whereas a save state puts you exactly where and how you were. As far as I can tell, your logic is painfully flawed.

i wasn't talking nor do i care about ram saves....I consider ram saves 100% legitimate, now save states which bring you the exact spot over and over, that's what i was counteracting by designing the game the way i did.....so either i make save states basically required or they would have been abused to make my game overly easy. (people would abuse save states no matter what so this way they can't abuse them to make the game overly easier)....save states exist, to design a game that just ignores there existence is the flaw.

hi kgp4death and others,

first of all i have to say your hack is a real good one. i played the parallel tower also with joy and wanted to try something new. i saw a few other hacks also around, but yours sounded somehow different so i want to thank you first for the nice time i could enjoy already with your game hack you released

You are very welcome sir.....Yeah i have to say the game is quite good, and not just saying that because i made it. Glad to see people are enjoying it, because it is a bit different and playing style does take a bit to get used to.

not that i post here much, but, yes, this is definitely a pretty nice hack. there are so few lttp hacks that have been finished that it's great to add another to the (regrettably small) collection. i sort of agree that making savestates essentially required is a good idea, but it seems implemented in a misguided way to me. think about it. you would be removing the "cheatiness" of states if you could limit it to one every long once in awhile or something, or if they penalized you after using one in some way. the way things are set up, you're requiring states, but it's not like they can't still be used to cheat whenever, regardless.

anyway, though, without your experimentation with things like that, the game wouldn't be beatable in 20 minutes. thanks.

lol, that even made me laugh.....It will be fixed eventually. actually working on an ocarina of time style zelda homebrew now, coming out to be pretty sweet.....without experimentation the world would be a very different place. oh and here is a video of what bond679 is talking about, though i wouldn't watch if you are actually thinking about playing.

http://www.megaupload.com/?d=IU6ALECT here are some .jpg pictures which show some mini issues... nothing important except maybe the picture in the castle. if you light a torch and then jump in the water you will not see yourself(and probably won't be able to leave the water, I don't know)

and a question: how to get a small key in blind's hideout(4th dungeon in dark worlds)? I saw one near boss room by pressing 1 or 2 (I dont remember) but I can't find a way to get it (there is a similar situation in Lost Woods).
