Yup.

Those light blocks in New Super Mario Bros Wii are cute. I tried and designed a cyan one in Photoshop, as well as a fitting post layout.

I made the block a relative size, so that it doesn't eat all the space for our TSUs (Tiny Screen Users) (YAA (Yet Another Abbreviation))

Let's stop it now.

Okay.

Agreed.

Oops. Forgot the obligatory link. This one actually leads somewhere. At a place you know well.
Let's go for a stretch test.

So... how is it? Opinions are welcome, as usual.

This reminds me of Tron, actually. I like it.

Note that although I have no such problems with it, some people will probably complain about text-shadow being slow.

Looks good, just a few complaints:

  • The glowing halo around the box cuts off on the sides

  • Consider making a:link orange rather than solid yellow, it'd go well with the cyan anyway

  • There's a layouts thread already

Thank you
As for shadow, it doesn't feel slow for me. I'll wait and see.
Anyway it doesn't work under Firefox <3.5 and the BOS (Browser Of Shame).

Made links a tiny bit brighter, so they're more visible. Changed their hover color from red to white (more visible once again).

If there are no other suggestions, I'm going to export the stylesheet and put it in the uploader. Currently it really takes much space in the post header.

Also, I hope the awful horizontal lines don't show up under Opera and the other browsers. Because they do under IE. But anyway my layout doesn't look as good under IE, due to the lack of various effects.

I don't mind missing the effects, but in practice, reading your quotes inside quotes is not trivial, I just tried on the other thread and I had to keep looking up who said what, indent alone doesn't seem enough to easily read quotes inside quotes, you'd like to fix that, unless it's just me.

EDIT: Oh wait, my commets were for before you made the changes, now it looks like this:

...

Must be when I was messing with it. Now, how is it?

Also, what browser are you using?

Edit: aww, yes. I see the disaster it is when the quote title occupies more than one row. Should be fixed now.

It's not fixed, but only appears when the "posted by" line is too long or when the quote pyramid gets too high, probably not an issue. Nice solution to the other problem. FF 2.0.0.20.

FF 3.5 renders them correctly even when they occupy more than one line. I suggest you upgrade.
It seems to be FF 2.0 not liking display:inline-block; on an <i>, or just ignoring it.

Anyway I changed the margin/padding settings so there's less wasted space at the right of the quoteboxes.

Oh, I did, and then I downgraded back to FF 2, I hate how +3 manages bookmarks, making things complex doesn't make them better.

Back to topic, yes, I really doubt something as long as "Posted by someone who doesn't want to quote anymore for now" is going to ever appear, so it should be fine.

Yeah. It's just for testing. Users happily don't have such long names

1Up: fixed a bug that would cause text-shadow to spoil spoilers, among other things. I hope it doesn't break horribly now under Opera and the other browsers.

Spoiler:
Testing: is this spoiler spoiled?

Yes.

EDIT - Ha! MY layout is spoiler unfriendly. Oh well, I always liked spoilers that appear after clicking over the ones that need highlighting, anyway.

Looks fine to me. It's funny how it retains a vague black outline when you select it, but it's okay.

Yes.

Weird. Normally, the spoiler tag is converted to:

<div style="background: black none repeat scroll 0% 0%; color: black;
-moz-background-clip: border; -moz-background-origin: padding;
-moz-background-inline-policy: continuous;" class="fonts"><font
color="white"><b>Spoiler:</b></font><br>spoiler content blah
blah</div>

In your layout, it looks like that:

<div style="background: black none repeat scroll 0% 0%; color: black;
-moz-background-clip: border; -moz-background-origin: padding;
-moz-background-inline-policy: continuous;" class="fonts"><font
style="font-size: 12px; line-height: 140%;" color="#ffffff"
face="Verdana"><font color="white"><b>Spoiler:</b></font><br>spoiler
content blah blah</div>

For some reason your layout's <font> tag is inserted in the wrong place. Must be a bug with either your layout or the board.

Funny how different navigators behave differently. In FF3.5 the selected text looks like normal text, ie isn't surrounded by the shadow.

Wow, that's a really a really shiny, neon-like layout. It looks really good, too!
I can't help but wonder, though, what arcane atrocities you must have committed to get your text to glow like that.
