In the "dialogue" section of Lazy Shell, at the top of the editor, you can select from editing menu, normal dialogue, and other palletes. Simply select "menu" and edit the palette.
if that doesn't help, I hope this doodle helps:

Hello again everyone.
I'm still truckin' here making the hack. Today I started making a ghost house type level that's gonna be pretty sweet.
Barring any unforeseen errors of some kind, I think I can say that I am over halfway done with this hack. No screen shots today and I still can't figure out how to make a youtube video of a demo.
Just thought I'd let you guys know that I'm still working hard. Remember that any comments or questions are welcome.

Have you ever tried Snes9x's video record function?

I have not tried using Snex9x's video record function. Does it record in a format that is usable by Youtube?

For everyone, here's an update (sort of):
I've been spending most of the last week fixing some things up that got messed up. Almost all of the "jump to" commands in the event scripts got messed up so I had to go through them and see which ones needed fixing. Ugh... Anyway, I'm just about done with the ghost house level. More to come, don't you worry.

Yeah, definitely. It's very nice--you can record in any format with any codec you wish.

Hey, hey again everybody.

Progress continues on the hack, but much slower than I'd like. There has been a lot of stuff going on, some deaths in the family, school, etc. but I don't want to bore you with the details. But with Thanksgiving this week, seeing the family and whatnot, I won't be able to continue til next week.

Anyway, I'm still working on the hack, so if anyone out there thought this hack was dead or something, fear not.

No teaser pics or anything today, but I'll try to get some more soon.

Sorry for the pretty lame and disappointing update, but I didn't want to leave you all hanging.

Hey again, everyone.
Just wanted to make sure none of you think I'm dead or anything.
Anyway, like the first game, this game actually ends in the Factory which is what I've been working on right now. I made the story end in the same place for teh epicness.
But this level (and the whole hack for that matter) has new boss battles, enemies, epic confrontations that never take themselves too seriously... so basically everything you've come to expect from a good Mario RPG.

I hope to get to the Alpha testing phases pretty soon here.
I'm also working on a little battle arena where you fight 1 vs 1 battles with enemies for glory and prizes. If things work out, you can fight in this arena with any ally of your choosing. That's right, folks, fighting battles withOUT Red.

Stay tuned, sports fans.
I promise that when this hack is done, you will not be disappointed.

This is probably the first hack I've ever seen with RPG. I tried hacking it a long time ago but I couldn't find the level editor, just the thing to edit enemy healths and damages and all that. glad to see your making progress. I really hope this works out for you. I'm liking your GFX work on The Axems. You should make Marios old Lazy Shell(Strongest weapon on original) an Axe. Maybe call it Flame Axe? I don't know, just opinions. I wonder what you'll do with Smithy and Igor (is it Igor? I'm not sure) And if you made the Char. Axem's, What will you turn the Axem's into on the Barrel Volcano?

Have good luck, Young Ranger. I'm happy to help with any ideas or opinions, as I am a fan of SMRPG.

Thanks for the replies, you two.
This hack completely changes the game, and that includes adding axes as each member's most powerful weapon, don't you worry about that.

Anyway, I'm pretty close to being done with this hack. Right now, I'm doing some alpha testing to make sure there's no game-nuking bugs. After I finish with that and fix problems that I may find, I'll hand it over to you, my beloved fan base, to beta test it. You know, to make sure there's no enemies that are uber powerful or weak, make sure pressing a certain button doesn't make the game explode, etc.

So please let me know if any of you would be interested in helping with beta testing.

P.S. I know I promised you guys screen shots and such, but every time I think about it, I think, "This time would better be spent working on the hack than just taking pictures of it." So that's why I haven't gotten around to it.

Lol... Funny as hell post. Hmm, if this was a market youd probably have some touch competition. Im calling Armageddon the best out there, but this is probably gonna be mindblowing in so many ways.

Also, Quack.

I certainly hope people think this hack is mind-blowing.
I'm still testing things now, I've actually come across quite a few errors that I've had to deal with. Lazy Shell (The program, not the items) has been doing this weird thing where it changes the location of a bunch of "jump to" commands in about half of all my event scripts. Major headache. I have to manually change each single "jump to" command to the correct value. But don't give up! I wanna say I'm maybe 2/5 of the way done with my hack (add-ons and other possible fixes still pending, so give or take a bit.)

And I've been waiting to say this for awhile, but look at the number of views this thread has.
IT'S OVER 9000!!!!!

Whoa, whoa, whoa... I just re-read my last post.
Total slip of the tongue. (Wait... I'm typing. Slip of the fingers?)
In my last post, I meant to say I was 2/5 of the way done with TESTING, not 2/5 of the way done with my hack.
Apologies are in order.

Hopefully none of you were permanently scared away from this hack.
I still do hope to have it done soon. Although, I did come up for a few new ideas for weapons to add in the hack... but those shouldn't be too difficult or time consuming to implement.

Well ladies and germs, I've done a test run and I've fixed all the game critical bugs I could find. (There are some minor bugs I'm still working on)

But for now, I'm looking to hand this hack off to you, my followers, for some beta testing to find more bugs I may have missed.

If you're interested in helping test this bad boy out, please let me know and I'll email or message you the link to the hack.

While you guys are all testing this out, there are some attacks and spells and things I want to add. So even if you're testing it, there will be more to look forward to after the testing.

I've played through this game and I've had a lot of fun. There are times when you'll say, "Hey, that's pretty cool!"
Things that make you say, "What the heck did I just see?"
and still other things that make you say, "lolwut?"

If you're interested in testing please let me know. For everyone else, stay tuned for when people are done testing and I've fixed the errors they've shown me.
