Which program i have to use to change the musics in Mega Man 2? I wanto to use the musics of others Mega Man games.
The only possibility is a hex editor? How i have to use it? |

Pretty much what mickvicent said is entirly true. There is nothing to do it with easily. Just the 'ol hex editing.
Transferring/copy-pasting songs and sounds between mm3-6 is totally possible and easy because they use the same format, but mm1 and mm2 are totally seperate different kinds. I have many sound effects in my game, Megaman Odyssey already that come from mm 4, 5, and 6, and 1 from the NES game - Mighty Final Fight cause it's all the same format purely. Only takes like 5-10 minutes to copy-paste straight out of the other games |

Posted by manu89 Wrong! Because using other MM2 musics without permission is prohibited. You must create it as your own or use musics from other Capcom MMC1 games. |

Posted by Insectduel Well what if he wasn't able to get permission, but gave credit to the composer of whatever song(s) he/she wanted to use? I mean with Megaman Ultra, should I have contacted Capcom, to use they're music that I inserted/edited? Where does it say in rom hacking, that it's prohibited to use someone elses created music in a rom hack? Personaly, I would be flattered if someone wanted to use my music from Megaman Ultra, as long as they just give credit to where it's due. Nothing against you Insectduel, I have the highest respect towards you, this is just how I feel about this particular situation. |

Hello world my name is intellectual property pleased to meet you.
We can steal all the music we want from the big game developers because we hack those games. We just can't steal the music that other ROM hackers create from scratch. ...Or at least that's what I hear. ____________________ we're currently experiencing some technical difficulties |

I don't want steal personal musics of other hackers, but musics of other games that some hackers inserted in their hacks, like the 8 bit version of some Mega Man X musics, or musics from other nes games; i would steal them from the MM2 hacks because i don't know which are the real games where these music come from. |

Honestly, your posts confuses me a little bit but be more clear. I've just don't like being dishonest to other people or i'll lose respect to my fans. In other words, I can use Chiko's Rockman 5 DWL's RosenkreuzStilette music to other MMC3 Mega Man games that originally composed by a German creator.
I do have other discussions about inserting music to your question. There's only one editor that is either extremely hard or no one else ever done in their entire lives. It is a really old thread so do not post. Puresabe's MIDI to NSF converter It's the only editor that can insert music and also adds more space to it but not sure if it's used with Mega Man or Mega Man II. I didn't use it to well. Or, just use plain hex. I have the details about the sound engine for the Megaman II document being copied at the 429 forums. |
