Why this hasn't been re-implemented yet, I'll never know. I also whole-heartedly agree.

Thirded. Consider for a moment how (relatively) easy it is to do, too.

Agreed. Blocking single layouts, I'm sure would be simple. Maybe have the option on the sidebar of one's profile?

Agreed with the above, even though I don't think I'd even use it. I can't think of any layouts I hate enough to block

The word back when layouts were first introduced was that administration just should relentlessly nuke all layouts that are not outright good (rather than just nuking those that are outright bad) in order to preserve aesthetic quality.

I think it would be a much more elegant solution to this than an individual layout block feature, which would ultimately just serve as an excuse to justify all kinds of bad layouts ("If you don't like it, just block it for yourself!"), which would lead to the board being a rather nasty sight to any newbies that float up or people who just can't be bothered to block every single bad layout.

Nevertheless, administration doesn't seem to be particularly keen about enforcing anything like that...

For my part, I've done quite a bit of layout nuking.

Ugh, I just was attacked by Stark's layout:

x,x

So, in such cases where I fail to load a layout properly, a block feature would be appreciated.

It looks like a browser-specific problem. Are you sure you weren't just using IE? because I never had any problems with Stark's layout.

Or if it was a temporary bug, you just press F5, et voilà...

No, it's common on my unusual configuration, whenever Stark, Bukkarooo, or KP9000 post an image that is so big it goes beyond the boundaries of my screen it literally jumps out of the page.

Anyway, I know it's my fault, I just was providing an example of a case where layout blocking would be useful.

Arbe has a point (sort of), so I'm going to revive this thread.

He's just asshurt that he can't have the "shit ugly" avatar (annoying gifs) that he thinks is somehow amusing.

Really, I'm not really too against user having avatars that are a maximum of 180x180 as long as it doesn't make me want to murder them and as long as they don't have an amazingly horrid track record of being a jack fuck.

Anything non-standard should be reserved for staff, and only when it works and looks good. My past layout didn't work out too great... and I apologize to anyone that has had to put up with it. As far as the rendering issues on my newest one, I dunno what's up with it.

And yeah, if you're using IE or some other shitty browser and you don't like my layout, you can go fuck yourselves.

What about the people that is using a most recent browser (just moving to Google Chrome) and would still like to block it (my main concern now is how it darkens images, blackhole did fix that in his layout)?

I just need to switch to a transparent PNG as a background and I haven't yet.

But I'm all for user-based layout blocking. The admin staff can handle whatever bad layouts may come even if this feature exists or not.

And this thread is a perfect example of why this board is dead and the staff are fucking useless pricks with no understanding of the world outside of themselves. Good going guys! Give yourselves a pat on the backs!

If you feel about me that way, well, that's your opinion and I have to respect that. But I do agree that we do need a change in staff. At least until other become active again. But, if there is any other discussion to be had on this topic, let us return to it. If not, I shall close. anything else should be brought to PM's.

Anyone else have any thoughts?
