Holy crap! Treeki is really into that series. I've only recently looked at his editor (again) for NSMB DS. (I knew about version 2, but never played with it. Then I was IMPRESSED with version 4)

I've gotten away from the new systems.... Is it even possible to emulate Wii games yet? All I've seen in terms of gameplay for NSMB Wii is the rotating ground (awesome) & Yoshi riding. It'd be crazy to edit that stuff!!!

Yeah, there's dolphin which is a combined gcn/wii emulator. I've played Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn on my PC.

Not to mention that the Wii is pathetically easy to soft-chip so you can just burn your own DVDs and play it on the original console. It is nuts that he's done it already though - it's been what, 3 days since the game came out?

Jesus hell that was quick. I'm awestruck.
I wonder how the game handles all the rotating/moving objects.

The game was leaked befor the release date so the iso have been around the net for a while now.

Lol, way to hate on the agility of the editor's appearance.

I really fail to see how information about leaked copies of the game can be construed as hate... If anything, it was simply an attempt at justifying the quick appearance of this editor.

Anyway, my regards to the creators of this tool. I can't say I'm very excited for it myself, though; I think games need to be around for a while and the "new car scent" sufficiently worn out of them before people start picking them apart and turning them into something else, but that's just me~ Interesting nonetheless.

If I remember, the level format is virtually, if not exactly, the same as the DS version... I think Treeki basically said both games were the same except for some extra bobbles here and there.

I'd imagine they have different objects/sprites or whatever.

On that note, what is NSMB's format like? Tile based foreground with object based sprites? Or is it all object-based like other Mario games?

Edit: Also, does anyone know the size of the NSMBWii ISO? I don't feel like looking for it and I want to know if I can fit it on my 8GB flash drive.

I think some of the ID flags for certain events/actors were the same across each game.

As for the size, I think I remember reading it was around 400/800MB after being scrubbed. I remember this because someone had commented that with that size, it'd be quite the feat for Miyamoto for telling the truth, that NSMB Wii was pushing the Wii to its limits both in terms of processing and game size.

400/800MB? Wow that's tiny. That can easily fit on my USB drive. Good news for easily testing edited levels!

I still need to get around to find all of the required homebrew, I've never really played any downloaded ISOs before. I just use homebrew for emulation, heh.

Less then that. From memory, it's about 350MB when scrubbed. It's a tiny sob.
