Bloc Party - Flux

A lot of people hate this song because it's more electronic-y than their stuff on sayyy, Silent Alarm (which was awesome) but I've got to be honest with you. I love the hell out of it. (People also don't like the vocodor action with the vocals.) And on a related note, the video is awesome. It's like something straight out of Power Rangers.

Well, here you can see for yourself.

If I remember right, this isn't going to be a new full length album. They just came out with one this year. I think it's suppose to be an LP of them messing around with new soundstyles and such.

The Crystal Method - Comin' Back

This song is awesome, as is the band. This comes off their album Vegas. You've probably heard a song and half from it already. "Get Busy Child" was a pretty big hit back in the late 90s and it also has "Trip Like I Do" which is famous for it being remixed with Filter for the Spawn soundtrack.

I should also mention that the actual song is about 2 minutes longer than the video and is slightly better.

I had to do a thing for my Ukrainian culture class on modern music in Ukraine. This is a band named Vytivki. I don't really undertsand most of what they're saying, but this video is pretty amusing.

The Chemical Brothers - Das Spiegel

You know, after all these years you'd think that they would be running out of steam but this years "We Are the Night" is still nothing short of amazing. The whole album is gold but I really like this song in particular. It's more of a laid back relaxing type track than some of their other ones. I'm sure most everyone has heard Block Rockin' Beats from way back in the day and Let Forever Be is probably one you've heard whether you realize it or not.

No video but here's the song that someone graciously uploaded to Youtube.

I'm listening to something by Davide Carbone. I was looking for Drum N' Bass samples one day and it was the demo song they provided. I liked it so I ended up downloading it.

I'm listening to "The Cross" By Within Temptation. I appreciate the style of this band. I am an Evanescence fan, but it nice to see another band leaning towards the dark rock side. Whenever life gets me down, I get my iPod out and start listening to it. It moves me in such was that's unexplainable. I love darkness, and listening to it in the dark gives me goosebumps of satisfaction. I love this band.

And I like some of Nightwish's music too.

Wow, I guess no one listens to music around here. Either that, or you're all too busy with your FF soundtracks.

As for me, I'm listening to the only bad part of Ed Banger Records. Uffie. Despite acknowledging this, I still listen to her anyway and I really do not know why. She's terrible and vulgar. Not that vulgarity is a bad thing necessarily, but eh... See for yourself. This is "Pop the Glock".

She was also on a track on Justice's album, which coincidentally, was also the worst song on the whole thing.

I'd also like to add that she has much worse lyrics than this. I am serious.

Well lately I've been digging into my older stuff, back when I listened to nothing but punk and ska. So I've been listening to stuff like The Vandals, The Misfits, and Catch 22. Right now I'm on a serious Vandals kick though, especially because I found out they have a cover of the Queen song "Don't Stop Me Now" which is one of my favorite songs ever. Not to mention the video for the Vandals cover is well... you should probably just see for yourself...

Hell yes for both WT and Nightwish. I haven't actually listened to "The Cross"... and it's sitting on my iPod

Anyways.
Right now I'm listening to:
Dark Passion Play by Nightwish (entire album)
Once by Nightwish (entire album)
"All Around Me", "I'm So Sick", "Cassie" by Flyleaf
"Numb" by Linkin Park (heard it on a Phoenix Wright tribute )
"Crows Fly Black", "Howl", "Ashes to the Stars" by Tarot (band of the Nightwish bassist)
And the occasional Brawl song (too many to list)

Yeah, I'm a big heavy/gothic/symphonic metal fan, Nightwish is my all-time favorite though, saw them in concert last year

We should just link to our last.fms in this thread.
Anyways, I've been listening to nothing for the past 3 days. Before that, it was all about Hito Toshite Jiku ga Bureteiru.

Yeah, like everybody has one.

For me, it lately has been a lot of
· ITs from Within a Deep Forest (since I've been working on something where I used them as test input)
· Satou Rina & Inoue Marina & Chihara Minori - Kokoro no Tsubasa (Minami-ke Okawari's opening theme; doesn't fit the mood of the series at all, but a very pretty song on its own)
· various elements of Ace Combat soundtracks
· Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei's soundtrack
· awesome Gregorian choir music I found on an old CD when dusting up my cupboard

As you see, my taste in music is very weeaboo-influenced. However, as far as genres go, I do listen to pretty much everything...

I'm listening to the clicking of the ceiling fan as it spins.

I don't really listen to music often except if I have nothing else to do or if I'm playing a game with music.

Conversely, I listen to it all the time when I am at the computer (resource-saving players running in the background <3), which in turn easily adds up to 14+ hours a day when I don't have school.

Does anyone here like Loreena McKennitt? I'm listening to her The Book of Secrets album right now, pretty much in sequence. I think it's really well done.

I've not listened to any real music in a looong time. I like to try and listen to the occasional trance song, but, I've always got the TV on in the background instead.

If I had to recommend a trance album, though, it would be Dave Pearce Trance Anthems 2008. Really, it rocks.

I don't listen to albums or music groups or music styles. I listen to the music I like. This means pretty much anything, except very hardcore metal, hip-hop and rap (unless it's rap from the 80's). I never listen to more than 3-4 songs from the same group. I listen to music only on two occasions: when I walk and sometimes when I drive long distances. Those are most of the groups from which I have more than 2 songs:

3 ACDC
4 Billy Joel
5 Les Cowboys Fringants
3 Elvis
3 Fastball
3 The Pillows
3 Nirvana
3 Queen
3 Roxette
4 The Incredible Machine

Most of the others are orphan songs. A few examples:

Aerosmith, Black Ingvars, Bob Seger, C&C Music Factory, Caesars, Chick 'n Swell, Deep Purple, Def Lepard, Dire Straits, Folder5, Gamma Ray, Gary Jules, Generation X, Green Day, Groovy Aardvark, Hermes House Band, Huey Lewis and the News, Ice MC, INXS, Iron Maiden, J. Giels Band, Joe Dassin, John Lennon, Joy Zipper, Kaiser Chiefs, Kim Wilde, Kiss, Led Zeppelin, Les Colocs, Lucky 7, Lynard Skynard, Marky Mark, Megadeth, Men Without Hats, Mes Aïeux, Metallica, Michel Sardou, Move, Narnia, Nine Inch Nail, Noir Silence, Plastic Bertrand, Rammstein, Ray Parker Jr., Rise Against, Right Said Fred, Robert Palmer, Roch Voisine, Rod Stewart, Saliva, Savage Garden, Smash Mouth, Spin Doctors, Steppenwolf, Stevie Wonder, Technotronic, The Beatles, The Cars, The Primitives, The Proclaimers, Tom Cochrane, Tom Jones, Toploader, Van Halen, Vangelis, Willie Nelson, Wilson Pickett...
