1: My dad plays poker. A lot. But recently, Internet Explorer script errors have been popping up 47 at a time, all with nothing in them, whenever it tries to open. SOL #1.
2: My mom uses Yahoo! Messenger. A lot. Now, however, incoming and outgoing messages haven't been showing up, and solutions point to fixing it from Internet Explorer. But one of the things that have to be enabled aren't there, so, SOL #2. 3: I use Internet Explorer. But only because my mom crams Firefox so full of memory that I close it each time I get on. Although, something has happened that makes errors pop up all over the place. I can't even log into Mech Crusaders! SOL #3. 4: I tried to attempt re-downloading Internet Explorer, but when I got to running the Genuine Validation software, I get [Error code: 0x800401f3] every time. But it used to work so well before, so SOL #4...****. That ****s. If any of you know what to do to fix these predicaments, I'm willing to try. Unlike my mom. |

Flurry #&postrank& Reinstall Windows? Or at least the files Internet Explorer uses, since that seems to be the problem, but then it could be registry entries
Otherwise, you could try using Trillian for Yahoo Messenger, and if Firefox doesn't work, there's still Opera ____________________ |

Posted by Acmlm Shot down. My mom is the one who uses those now, and she won't change that, so replacing them isn't an option. "An error has occured in the script on this page. Line: Char: Error: Code: URL: Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?" All of that 47 times, and the Yes/No buttons don't work. |

The family is too poor to have a chance for that. My birthday was Feb 3, as well.
Eesh...this is all annoying. System Restore won't even come up. Bah. |

Try selling your car or something and using the money for a computer or something |

I don't have a car. Every vehicle here is ****. Anything I can sell I'm likely to keep, and anything I'll let go is low-value.
Punch Line: I'm ****ed. |

I don't have a car either...I just use my bicycle and the bus system. I figure if I can live like this in Detroit, it'll be ten times easier anywhere else. I never want a car, I like saving all this money. |

At least you're getting some money. Every day I only have a 35% chance of earning $0.01, which is really pitiful, while I only have $13 in stock. It seems like I'm the poorest on this board. Bah. |

I could always try to fix it using Radmin (I have some nice utilities for this kind of thing )
I'm sure it's just clogged with a bunch of bullshit, so removing it wouldn't be too hard... unless it's really evil. Then you might have a problem ____________________ I dealt with it. |

This sounds like a simple case of virus/spyware/malware. If this is the case, reinstalling things won't really help that much.
First, you should do a virus scan, and then use adaware to scan for other crap. If it's not fixed by then, try downloading HijackThis, do the scan, save the log, and post it here. Edit: The idea of posting the log here is so I (and maybe some other users) can look and see if there are some entries that are suspicious. In addition to doing that, you could look at the log yourself and do a google search on the entries that look suspicious. ____________________ |

setz have a point though.
I mean, if there's anything more annoying than overly swearing, it's overly censoring swearing. And yeah, a log would be useful. It reminds me that I should do a scan myself. And for Firefox, uhm... you should run your own profile. What Windows version are you using? Normally Firefox uses a seperate profile for each account, but if you for some reason only use one account (which is stupid anyway, as it tends to lead to conflicts ) you might want to check out the Profile manager in Firefox. ____________________ AIM: gamefreak1337, MSN: Emil_sim@spray.se, XMPP: ailure@xmpp.kafuka.org

Also, swearing is allowed here, there's no need to censor it. |

Well, perhaps it's just a habit for some of us.
I mean, I'm almost 27, and I still don't feel comfortable about swearing in any form, even if I'm surrounded by others who do it freely. It's just the way I was raised. Thus, the happy little asterisks tend to pepper my sentences occasionally. ____________________ [citation needed] |

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [New.net Startup] rundll32 C:\PROGRA~1\NEWDOT~1\NEWDOT~2.DLL,ClientStartup -s
That is a known AdWare, it's supposedly for some new domain extensions but it really screws up Internet Explorer and does some other weird crap. How to I Remove SaveNow or NewDotNet? Both of these programs can generally be removed through the Add/Remove Programs Control Panel under Normal Circumstances. 1) Click on Start, Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs 2) For SaveNow, search for Save!, SaveNow, or WhenUShop entries and click on Change/Remove to remove them 3) For NewDotNet, look for New.Net Domains and choose to Remove it. 4) Reboot your computer and SaveNow and NewdotNet should be removed. |

(Oop...should've been on during the weekend.)
OK, thanks, but...there's still problems... When I run the validation software, it pops up a window then shows all the script errors that were existing previously. And then it goes blank... I ran HijackThis again...does it look fine? Posted by HijackThis |

Hm. Beats me. It might be a required file for validating, it might even supply info to IE.
I just don't know. |
