I'm finally starting my own project for my game which I should have done a very long time ago. I did not want to make a post until the 2nd level was complete, but I just came a bit early. I make this post cause it might be able to help me to get stuff done faster. I started in 2006 officially, and have had 1 person who has helped me out ever since luckily.
That is Megaman-Omega, whom I consider like the co-creator of my game. He helps out with graphic/sprite design, ideas, and level design.

Credit goes to him for the awesome robot master designs, sprites, and tilesets, level graphics. I can program almost anything I want in the NES's assembley for my game, as long as I choose to. But i'm very SLOW at getting things done unfortanetly.

Infidelity will help out with new music for the game, because i've helped him out greately with his Megaman Ultra 2. But i have not asked him for anything yet.

I'm not that good at storytelling, idea thinking (sometimes from time to time), and graphics.

I have made a thread on rockmanPM today about this, located here
I'm just trying to keep this post kind of short so i dont turn away people from reading far too much. So that's why most of the main details are on there instead of here, i just happened to pick that board for some reason before i picked acmlm

But i believe i may get more attention with fellow rom hackers on this board because Im familiar with many more people on here compared to RockmanPM.

When will this project be completed?? I just dont know, but i tell everyone "someday in the 2010's".

Well since i need to show screenshots: here's just a couple random ones:

Looks like I'm the first to post... let me start by saying that I enjoyed the DEMO of this hack very much! This hack (and this is just my opinion) is one of the most extensive hacks of MM3 I've ever played. With all the MM2 hacks out today, it's good to see someone hacking Mega Man 3, as it was my favorite Mega Man title on the NES next to Mega Man 4.

I wish you the best with this project, and will be looking forward to the updates! If I can help in any way, feel free to let me know. I'll also post some info up on my site as well!

Loved the demo as well.

I'll try to get cracking on one of the songs you suggested/requested about 2 months ago. I'm still trying to get better with this sound engine, even though some of the songs that i've done were praised by yourself and Matrixz. When you get a chance, give me a list of what you would like for your hack, so I can start getting used to listening to them, and get ready to write them. I just hope that they live up to your standards, and what you would like to expect.

Also, if you can give me the names of the games they come from as well that will help. (if the songs you request are not from the following)

MM 1-6 (NES)
MM 1-5 (GB)
MMX 1-6 (PSX)

As always, keep up the amazing work. Hands down, the best MM3 rom hack ever!

I'm not pretty much knowledge in Music and Sprite drawings either. That's why I stopped with my MegaGirl project temporarily. Even though people think my sprite drawings are OK but I think it's still isn't good as the other sprite polished hacks. And I was meant to set up an advertisement on RHDN because I still need help with the female robot Mega Man 1 drawings into sprite form drawn by GreenNinja.

I have a reason why I jumped into my Mega Man 4 Project but I never touched it the whole summer since that last update with the skull castle editing. Too busy with other stuff instead. I want to get back to my Mega Man IV project as soon as possible and not try to make it more fancy like Rockman 4MI.

I have only at least 68% as my guess in 6502 assembly coding terms but I can create most of it for MM4. I learned a lot from certain documentations.

But I would like to ask though. I know you have Time attack in your hack, what about Endless attack mode like Mega Man 9.

I know it's going to be pretty way long to finish until the future year but I wish you a best of luck.

Endless attack - nah, i really dont think i want to. Will take forever just to get all these levels designed first anyways.
Honestly it would take me far much longer to code the events/enemies/bosses compared to even doing actual level design. :|

Okay, yea we'll talk about it on AIM infidel. Only 2 songs ive been able to ever think of so far to this date.

From feburary 2009

i would like to point out to people, that while i would hopefully like to get more people to help out with this game, im just not sure that people having my rom as-is would do any good, because i dont use assemblers like people should, and i know people give me a real hard time about this, (which is okay with me) but it's just the decision i personally made when i first started this project a couple years ago.

In other words, this game is entirly done almost in pure hex. Only actual stuff that's not is:
* putting in graphics with YY-CHR/Tile layer pro
* constructing the levels/level design, enemy placements, colors, that kind of stuff, is done with a custom-made version of the MegaFLE X level editor.

Everything else is hex edited to tell the truth, by myself.

A hack like this shouldn't got to waste, I hope more people can come together to help out. If you can kk lemme see that custom made level editor, I'd like to take a stab at a couple of levels for you since I'm hacking MM.

I hate seeing hack go into a dead state, once the levels get done everything'll fall in place I just know it. ;D

Most of the stuff from my Mega Man 1 hack is also hex edited except Graphics and Level Editing. It's hard to make levels without a certain map editor to guide you. And so is my current Mega Man IV project I'm working on how. Skull castle editing is done witn custom Mega FLE X since hex editing by tile will take a long time.

Anyway, Mega Man III was my first game in my childhood years and got Mega Man IV on my 8th Birthday. But I chose Mega Man IV as my favorite and wanted to make it more decent like Rockman EXILE, Rockman Z and EXHAUST combined. Now MM3 is my 2nd favorite.

I would like to take a shot of Rockman Perfect memories since I see nice sprites of your boss characters for your hack. I should show them my crappy art of my MegaGirl 1 series drawn my me except Elecgirl which is 100% fine and Cirno is stolen from another hack after I drawn her.

I'm such a bad pixel artist.

I'm such a bad pixel artist.

All what you need is just some practice and criticism to guide you.
Practice makes perfect or we germans like to say: "Es ist noch kein Meister vom Himmel gefallen." which means, " A master hasn´t fallen yet from heaven."

Just take a sprite as a draft and try to redraw it. My Elpizo and my 8-bit WARNING were made that way.

Sure i can share it with you. I may need to walk you through how to use the TSA Table editor screen mainly since that's got the biggest changes to it than the editor originally had. It may be pretty complicated to people for a little while beside myself. But it'd take a little time to get used to.

Want me to PM you about it, or talk about it with everyone in here ?

I've followed the progress of this hack, and it's indeed one of the best ones of MM3, although it's still in its early stage. I'm especially happy to hear that infidelity will help you out with new music, I think new tracks are pretty important when the hacks have other things than just levels edited. Maybe some original pieces will be included as well, not just tracks from other games?

Well all it takes is practice. No one can be expected to make something good right off the bet. I've been spriting sense I was ten and I still know there's people out there much better than me.

But if you want some tip's try the "Frankenstein" method I remember reading about on Mechanical maniacs.

Take a whole bunch of pieces parts from different characters preferably from Megaman but any robot series that's close in style'll do. and put them all together until you get a basic figure.

From there I just start editing a theme and making said pices flow until A: the pieces fit properly and B: I can't really pinpoint where my source material came from.

Behind the scenes is better for me, and e-mail is fine. I've been already getting a few level ideas in the works on pan & paper. ;D

I really like these advices/comments from Megaman-Omega and Thantoszero and I have their based Mugshots for MegaGirlAFS hack comparing to their art designed by GreenNinja except Gutsgirl. Mine isn't compared with kuja killer's 8 bosses art like on Rockman PM and is more polished. I really like Necro and Spike Man. Seems interesting.

http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a1/insectduel/MegaGirl1MugShot.png

I have a reason why I chose to abandon the project until next year after my Mega Man IV project. Not if the spriting but also the assembly work as well. Bommbgirl's AI behaviour still needs a bugfix but I really don't mind remaking their sprites from scratch.

Even though I can make their sprites 4 colors instead of 2 colors in a same palette index table (Like ElecGirl's hair being green like in the art), the whole sprites needs to be reassembled all over again. Most of them I drew is ripped with random hairstyle tiles from a different game and most of Roll's. Elecgirl is drawn by my brother by the way which remain unchanged.

Elecgirl, Possibly Bommbgirl, and Cutgirl seems okay. It's just needs a little palette swapping and reassembled a little bit.

Whatever I feel like working on my Megaman1 project again. I'll begin re-drawing but for now, I'm working with my MM4 long-term project.

Sigh...a strong part of me says not to do this. I never did like posting my work on the internet but I need to get over that fear...

I know you never even hinted at wanting any added sprite work done but...after seeing your post I couldn't help but look at what I could do in such a theme...

CutGirl

I don't know why I'm doing this...I have to much on my plate as is working with Kuja but I am curious as to how people think of my work...regardless of reaction...

This hack is looking great so far! Keep up the good work guys. I played the Bolt Man stage and a lot has changed; I'd even say it's more extensive than Rockman No Constancy. My only gripe is how hard the outer tower stage is, what with the winds not cooperating half of the time.

I don't really know what else to say. I'm new to this website so... I guess I'll learn more as I visit?

Are you Raiyukazumori? Glad you decided to come here. You will proberly learn a lot from the community.

I don't have 100% knowledge in Mega Man III but I do most of MM4. A lot. But I do know how the data works. I wanna get back with MM4 project soon. And no one told me about the updated version of Effect Enemy EX since I played the updated version of Rockman Sparking to Hero last night. I have to recode the ASM back into my current MM4 hack I'm working on.

I don't know what newly added hex from the old one I kept in my hard drive.

Yes, that would be me. And thanks for the greeting of sorts, I become interested in this website partially after kujakiller sent me a friend invite on Youtube and because of the hack I'm working on. I started a topic that sort of discusses it, as well as a few questions.

If I had half the skills and knowledge kujakiller does about MM3 I think I'd be okay. But that's why I'm here, to learn more. XD

DurfarC - Yea that would be cool if i was able to have a couple original custom made songs that are not from other games someday in the future if possible.

I did see your video in the screenshot thread about how you were able to make a gameboy song with the NES mm3-6 music format, that's pretty cool.
