I just can't seem to get the video to post properly here.

Pasting a video's embed code should work. Click "Share" next to the rating buttons, click the embed button below that, and scroll down for some embedding options and the size of the video area. The embedding code should already be highlighted, so just copy that and paste it into your post! If you've already tried this, try using the old embed option to see if it works.

When you say in your description that your levels will be nothing like the original designs are you talking about the levels after the first (the one showcased)?


Yes and no. I want to make the levels playable for all ages, and make sure I don't have any odd glitches like I did before, but I may add that level in later in the game. I'm going with a different approach, but I may swing down that other road in the future.

it's good to see more SMB3 hacking going on. I know space issues plague level design, but there's one rule of thumb that should be followed regardless of anything else, and that's to *not* build your level from the pieces of the original level. You should build it from scratch, that way it doesn't feel like "just another SMB3 hack" that isn't worth playing. Now, I can tell you already have some good footholds down for level design, so you should have no problems with the creativity department. But it's just data logistics that you have to worry about... Like repointing levels to new space, etc...

But as far as youtube vids go, when you get the embed code, you have to check the option that says "Use old embed code" for it to work here. Strange, I know, but whatever.
Yeah, I know what you mean. Thanks for the tips! QC is going to help me with those aspects. So for now, I'm just going to follow the level data parameters, and then once it's complete, I'll get work on the pointers.

I think what he meant is that you could tell that the level you showed looked alot like the original level 1. It's cool design and all but you can tell that it's based of the original. I think you should remove all objects from the level before making it so it couldn't look anything like it use to.

Also, I like how someone is hacking SMB3, kudos gto you sir!

That's a known issue like a few, I might have overwritten some graphics, I don't know what I did but I'll figure it out in due time. It's not stoping me from making any progress let's say.
