Mario Kart red shells in Mario 64 anyone ?

The red shell is one of the beta models leftovers found in the ROM. This bizarre thing was written in C.

I love playing around with Japanese editors. Like I did with SMB Utility Version 1.061

Rockman 2 Editor created by Rock5easily was released a while ago. I have tried to post news at RHDN about Rockman 2 Editor but rejected.

This Rockman 2 and Mega Man II editor created by Rock5easily can edit maps, enemies, CHR Animations, CHR Palettes, Palettes, TSA Attributes (Especially above 7F), screen start position, lock scrolling, and even edit scrolls. It can add or delete enemies by right clicking on the screen in the enemy editor. However, it doesn't edit music headers, title screen, skull castles, texting, graphic load sets, or stage select. The editor is in Japanese and is very easy to use for most of them.

Me and Konchuu Kettou are in a team current Rockman 2 Project. However, I still think Visine is better but I using DOS editors.

So I clearly have no clue what I'm doing here, but I was having fun poking around the Mega Man 2 rom today, and I made a new weapon to replace the Quick Boomerang. I don't really have a name for it, but I'll explain how it works.

You fire two of them in order for it to have a full effect. The first mine sticks in the ground and disappears after a very short period of time. Once the second mine comes in close enough...

BOOM! They explode! The mines, along with the explosion can damage enemies.
Also if you hold down the fire button it will cause explosions to continue to happen.

That's pretty cool, the first name that comes to my mind is "Clip Mine" for your weapon, I gotta poke at MM hacking again... ;D

I've been slowly getting motivated to hack right now, here's two screens from my Battle City hack...

Bonus points for who remembers which hack that characters comes from in the 2nd pic... ^^;

@Dr. Hell: You really know your ASM tools. Too bad I have 12% knowledge for Mega Man II hacking.

<3 lovely....

How about a chargeable Rockbuster in Rockman 2, which works like the one from RM4, but with the look of RM5?
I would love to see such a patch.
Please? OvO

Dr. Hell, I wouldn't mind seeing what you could do with this game, graphically. If you could do to Megaman what you do with Castlevania, that would be interesting to see.

Well the Castlevania 3 hack is starting back up, so I might mostly just be using Mega Man 2 in order to learn how to do some stuff. I mean as it stands right now, I'm struggling to do the smallest asm hacks.

You've been waiting for this...

Edit:
As you can see, I've sped up some animation, graphics, and some other things. A couple of glitches in this video are going to get fixed.
This video is definitely more than what is currently done. I'm getting to know how to do some other things too. But since school already started, I can hopefully find time to do this. And as always, expect some changes.

I dunno what came over me today, I started messing around with Mega Man in St. Canard and for some strange reason I'm learning how to use the scroll editor. So here's fireman's level in the beginning...

Don't worry about that glitch in the background, I need to get ridda more 01 objects but they're being an ass to delete. ^^;

That looks sweet! I've actually only played Rockman 2; I really should look more into the Mega Man series. Best of luck with your continued progress, Doc!

The second preview at long last! I like what you've been doing and it's evident that you are improving with your SMB3 hacking. Those level designs are pretty unique! Keep up the nice work Z!

It's not pretty easy messing around with Rock n' Roll editor. I had Guts man Crashed on my own hack. That's why I had loads of ROM backups. Good luck with it.

Huh? It may be because of the palette, but thanks for the comment.

Hey, I also found out what a Googie is.

Here are some more Hotshots that I had questioned to make a preview out of, but with a little imagination they could go together like one.

It's time for Mario and these screenshots to finally cool off.

I finally had a day off today, and decided to finally analyze matrixz' music document for Mega Man 3-6. I always thought editing music in a hex editor would be both hard and kinda boring, but after some hours I got a pretty decent first time-result I think. I chose to copy Air Man's stage music from MM2 for the Game Boy, since that song is pretty simple.

The stage itself is also made by me. I didn't do much on this hack since I just released that other one, but after I started to figure out the music data it became much more fun working with it.

@Durfar C: Damn, you really know how to make music. Finding the music data is easy for me but I cannot make music instruments. And Air Man's theme from Rockman World 2 is my favorite one.

I want to make one for my Mega Man IV hack sometime and ripped songs from Rockman Megaworld. I have Kega Fusion to rip music into .vgm and have .vgm converted into MIDI.

Making music with hex is soooooo hard and hard to rip instruments too. I'm no musician or a MIDI keyboarder.

Ahem, right now I am disapointed about the Dr. Cossack bug with Rock5easily's Haikei patch for Mega Man IV/Rockman 4 and re-released it. But mine turned out to be okay since I put the code in an empty freespace Hard-Wired. Proberly because of Matrixz's falsified unused random data offset.

That is why you cannot trust IPS patches even if you want the code for regional language versions of the game.

Having the upward pipes overlap the side pipes like in the first, second, and fifth screenshots looks really weird. I'd recommend not doing that.

Also, in the following screenshot, you should move the door over one block to the right. In its current position, it's cutting off the graphic of the "Bottom post of pipe structure" object.
