Holy crap! That's awesome! O.O

Anyway, it's a tough call. The first one is a bit more accurate to Vampire Killer, but the the second one with the grays looks nicer over all.

I always wanted to remake CV1 to be more like Vampire Killer, but it looks like you've beaten me to it! Great work!

I'm still unsure what I am going to do with this game. This game has so much going for it but I am a little lost on what direction to take as far as environment, gameplay, and story. It's a hellavalotafun to play it because it has arcade like action, but how to blend it with an open world is confusing.

You could always use Vampire Killer's content as a base and then go back and do other stuff later. I even have a lot of stage layouts I made ages ago lying around waiting to be used.

Also, you already have Simon in their, so you could always do a really kick-ass remake of Simon's Quest.

Another idea is to set it up as a base for other hackers to work on their own stuff while you come up with your own new content.

Oh, here's another couple of awesome settings you could do! Konami never did Bram Stoker's Dracula as a CV game, so you could try doing the adaptation. Or you could attempt doing the 1999 backstory to Aria of Sorrow.

The way you've put this thing together you could practically do anything you want.

Currently bored, so I thought I would also showcase these here:

I assume this is forum must be proper place to show off SMW2 hacking related stuff, since a YI hacking forum doesn't seem to exist...

Looks pretty good so far, keep it up.

This is the right place to put your screen shots because there isn't enough interest in hacking Yoshi's Island to warrant the creation of its own subforum.

You'll be able to use SRAM/EXRAM to save games. How about that..
The save screen is a mess, so no preview of that.
You may also use passwords as an alternative.

Sweet. I want to do that for my hack as well. Was it a pain in the ass to get done?

I am loving that Ice Land remix man! I'm creating a SMB3 hack, I just wish there was an editor that had no level limits...

FYI, level limits are imposed by limited hardware of the NES and by the game itself, not by the level editor.

Well, I haven't done anything in a while, so I figured it was time to change all that!

Copypasta video description from Youtube:

It feels good to be able to finally upload something else. I don't want to look at Luigi's Adventure for a long long time.

Anyways, it's been a few months since I announced that I was going to graduate my Mario 3 hack to Reuben, but since the editor's release is taking longer than I had originally anticipated (at least it's not canceled!), I've decided to create a side hack: Mario in the Curious Kingdom (tentative title)!

This one-world hack aims to explore a side of Mario 3 that is never really touched on: its potential for confusing and puzzling level designs. Previously, I've only seen this idea (rarely) tapped into in Super Mario World, and I thought it'd be a lot of fun to try it with Mario 3 instead (hey, at least it's not kaizo, right?).

In order to keep the hack kinda' difficult (and because of a few of the engine's limiting headaches), there won't be (very many) hints as to what to do or reset pipes in the levels to make all your mistakes magically disappear. Call me evil, but if I give the player infinite time and let him reset the level as much as he wants, then there'll be no incentive to be cautious while trying to figure out the stages! Besides, I'll be more than generous with the goodies in later stages. I promise.

Feedback is always appreciated, as are any questions you may have!

That looks extremely win. I'm assuming that's aside from SMB3 world championship? If so, how many hacks has Daiz got going here? Three? Dang. But that looks like a really fun hack.

Hmmm? I don't quite follow. This hack has nothing to do with DahrkDaiz other than the fact that it's what I'm doing while he puts the finishing touches on his editor. Thank you for the comments, though.

That level is really clever, but it's not my style, I guess. One wrong move and you have to start over. Levels shouldn't rely on your skills as heavily as that, I believe. On the other hand, SMB3 doesn't really have much to offer in terms of secrets and the only real thing to work for is the end of a level. So, any secrets there may be, a player is likely to pass them up because the secret has little worth.

It does take some thinking to put together a level like that though. Good work.

I understand, and that's why it's not really a full-on project like a conventional hack. It's simply for fun; to give people something new to try.

I might be nice and add many starting lives or even infinite lives to make it less grueling.

Oh, I must have misread it. Sorry.

Take it as a compliment though, if I confused your hack with DD's it means it had to be pretty good. xD
