...I'm asking for help.
I need someone who could do the discoveries on e-Level Format. It would help me VERY MUCH. (Of course, i will be still doing the programming of Solar Magic Advance.) I can't abandon Solar Magic Advance because it's something that i want to finish. Ok, Which discoveries are you referring to? With a now completed sprite list (is it completed?) isn't most of the format figured out? or is it about the compression/decompression.
Sorry, it's been a while since I've been around, but I'm still interested in this project, and with classes ending next week, I'll hopefully have some time. |

Sprite List is actually is quite completed (useful work from Upaluppa), but it's still not.
Sprite F4, F5, and F6 from Bank 0 and some others are still a mystery. Object List, i was supposed to do it now, but i feel more like programming Solar Magic Advance 0.4 (which is open source, it's on Google Code) than anything else. The compression of Level Cards is figured out, so there's no problems here. But the e-Level Format is not figured out entirely, the Level Settings is not figured out at 100%, same for Object Data Settings. I think that's it. If we could figure out those (Complete Sprite List, Object List, Level Settings, and Object Settings), then i think we got all the informations about eLevel Format, and i can work on Solar Magic Advance to be the 1st e-Level Editor, and will make "Mad Dash" e-Level. ____________________ My Website on Neocities |

The new version of Solar Magic Advance finally shows all those sprites and objects correctly in my custom levels!
I absolutely love it! Err... ...is there still interest in SMA4? I am asking because I would like to create some new levels for it. I just have to see those SMW Dolphins in action! @Kiiro: I feel sorry for letting you wait so long on the spritelist... Is there anything I can do to help? I'm still interested in doing Solar Magic Advance for sure.
If you manage to know all the things i've been missing of the e-Level Format, Object Data and Sprite Data, then an e-Level Editor would see the light of the day. (and a ROM Editor will be there too) Then, all i can say is : "Thank you for helping me ! Without your help Solar Magic Advance would take more time to get a REAL Level Editor." Hey everyone. Sorry I haven't posted on here in forever.
School, etc. Anyways, now that I'm done with school, I revisited my SMA4-e Project, and found out a minor translation flaw. The 19th Mushroom e-level is translated as "Pipe Maze", which also happens to be the SAME NAME as World 7 of the main game. BAD SEMANTICS... As such, I re-translated that level as "Pipe Labyrinth" and thus updated my upload files accordingly. Below is the NEW download link for v1.2: (I deleted the old one) http://www.mediafire.com/?g0romgyhamjvznm In addition to the updated .level file, I also updated my latest .sav file of Super Mario Advance 4, which contains COMPLETE data progress in ALL portions of the game. (In other words: The .sav file has ALL 37 levels on it, EXCEPT of course, for the non-existent Mad Dash.) Anyways, I'm out. Enjoy the download. |

Sorry if I'm being ignorant, but since a level editor for SMA4 exists, and a video of the Mad Dash level exists, how come no one has made a level card from scratch by following the video? |

I finish school at 27 of June, or maybe a little before.
Anyway, even though it's not new : Solar Magic Advance 0.4 is open source and is compatible Windows, Mac and Linux, you can get the source here : http://code.google.com/p/smagicadv/ It can make Power-Up Cards, Switch Cards, and Demo Cards ! So, anyone here know enough THUMB to make it so e-levels can be loaded from the ROM instead of from a card? Because looking at the people left active on this thread, that seems to be the easiest way to go about hacking the ROM itself. Even if we couldn't replace 1-1, if we could send an IPS patch with 50 custom e-levels loaded from the ROM, it'd accomplish the same thing (granted, 1-1 being set to load custom e-level 1, 1-2 set to load custom e-level 2, the fortress being set to load custom e-level 5, etc. would be even better, but at this point we'll have to take what we can get...) |

I think it's possible to change the pointers from the SAV to the ROM.
