And it has a radeon x300 gfx card, what can it run? Game and Emulator wise?

it has plenty of free space, i'm currently using it as slave to download wii games, so any suggestions and to what I can do with it without putting any money into it would be great

And I can't tell but is this a dual core?

It should suffice for everything up to SNES. N64 should work too, PSX might be slightly problematic.

The specs aren't considerably lower than on my primary machine, though, so I wouldn't be surprised if PSX works well too.

I also ran Portal smoothly at full quality, but Valve games aren't much of a measure for high-end hardware requirements...

Looks to be rather similar to mine, so NES/SNES/GBA emulation should work 100%, N64 ~95%, PSX ~80%, DS ~85%.

Also, no, it is not dual-core. P4 is sc.

Nightkev: as you can see IT SAYS 2.8 GHZ and 2.79 GHZ and also if i go into HW manager it shows two processors, so I'm PRETTY sure it is dual core

chungy: Wouldn't it say something about it being "dual-core" then?

I just checked on my computer, it says the exact same thing for mine (and mine is 100% single-core).

and also if i go into HW manager it shows two processors
Well, there is where it differs for us. Mine only shows one. Check dxdiag (start -> run -> 'dxdiag') and see what that says for "Processor" (first "page" of it).

Honestly, I would use my wii for emulation (except for psx of course), spend the 40$ to buy a wireless xbox360 control for the computer, and hook it up to the TV with a kickass media center. Then you could still use it for emulation (all configured to run with the 360 control of course), and also have a very nice setup for your TV in general.
It has beefy enough specs to do some nice things with...

there you go, as you can clearly see.
2 CPU's if that's not Dual Core I don't know what is

Xeruss: I'm upgrading the RAM on the computer and getting awesome GFX card, and giving this current rig to my girlfriend for our anniversary so she'll finally have her own computer, I do have a few emulators on my Wii, but meh, they're not just there yet imo I'll keep waiting for those, and keep downloading mah games to play, I do love Backup Launcher,

But any other cool ideas for this rig are more then welcome!

Pentium 4's often use what's called Hyperthreading. My current laptop computer has a P4 with hyperthreading in it. Check your bios, it will say something about it. Hyperthreading is basically an emulation of two processors using the one processor. Therefore, you have two logical threads. The P4 was the only processor for a while that supported this feature until the Core i7 came out, which has 4 cores in it. Taking the hyperthreading into account, you end up with EIGHT logical threads! The OS would show eight processors going at once!

I can understand it's your opinion, but I've found the emulation (with the latest Wii emus of course) to be flawless. And personally, I'd recommend the USB launcher and a large external hard drive as opposed to the backup launcher. It runs copies (I only make copies so my many many small children won't destroy my original discs) almost flawlessly in my experience...

Just throwing that out there for you.
