How the game works

So, this is basically Fire Emblem, only online PvP instead of single-player PvE. Lots of stuff is borrowed from the canon FE games, but there is also a lot of original content, and the mechanics have been somewhat rebalanced for PvP play.

If you don't know what Fire Emblem is, it is a series of SRPG games. They are turn-based combat games similar to the Final Fantasy Tactics series.
