Remember when I came... I said I was working on a hack..Well here's a Two World Demo. All the Screens were made in FCEUX 2.0.3 with a custom palette I am making for this game {Palette Not included in this demo.}

Here's The Link.
http://acmlm.kafuka.org/uploader/index.php?act=viewcat&id=12
Look For NutheadDemo.ips

Yes I'm using the board's uploader.

Most out of the 2 Worlds were edited. 2-3 was the least edited.

You're Not going to be able to make it past 2-4. I blocked access to the Axe and Bowser.

Any comments will be appreciated.

Edit: I forgot to say patch it to a 40,976 SMB Rom. I'm not sure if it will work on a trained Rom.

Edit 2: FINAL RELEASE http://acmlm.no-ip.org/uploader/get.php?id=1487

Why couldn't you just link the file directly, like this?

Also, what does "EONEI" mean?

Also, rather than changing the palette, couldn't you just modify the graphics? Going for the palette the emulator uses seems like a very dirty workaround to me.

To the Question pertaining to upload. I did not know I could do that.

To the Question pertaining to the Palette & Graphics. When I made these shots at the time I did not have a graphics editor. Also...I'm not very good with them.

To the Question about EONEI: EONEI means Attacked Planet Area. I was going with Planet to replace World but due to the limited amount of letters used in WORLD I needed something else. It also has to do with the hack's plot.

You don't need graphics editors to change the game's palette. Unlike PNG and such, the two are mostly unrelated.

Editing palettes on the NES is also very, very easy given a reference image with the values.

I have a good reason why I don't play SMB1 hacks anymore or to edit them.

I know you said that you currently working on it, but level designs must be neat and orientated made like other good SMB1 hacks. And Background/Foreground GFX should be designed AT LEAST for the final version of your game.

You're right. Even Though this is my first Hack. This Demo will be Known as Nuthead Beta 1. The Final Version will hopefully have the following.

Graphic Changes.
Fixed Levels
Text Edits
Palette Changes.

As long as they don't have actual "nut heads" when you hack the graphics for the final version, you should be good to go.

Edit: also, I find something very appealing about the palette and I can't explain what. I'm not sure if I could handle it for an entire game play-through, but it's certainly not offensive in these screen shots, by and large.

I agree. I find it very appealing as well. It's like the SMB1 version of Blue Mario Bros. 3.

I played through Nuthead Beta 1.1, Nutheadbros, and I did like what you have done so far. However, I think there is an issue with levels 2-1 and 2-3. They originally weren't water-based levels and they were changed to be, but the blocks ("?" blocks and bricks, for example) do not work properly as a result. Is this something that you plan on fixing for the next version?

Also, some of the levels that you claimed to have changed seemed to just be the original levels with possibly one change (like with 2-3 where you have to swim through it instead). With the levels between 1-1 and 4-4, do you plan on keeping them the way they are right now, or do you plan on going back to modify them some more? I assume so from what you said concerning your plans for the final version, but I just thought I'd ask anyway just to update and confirm the most recent plans.

All in all, I'm looking forward to what you do next with the hack. Best of luck with it!

The Answers are this......The ? Blocks and Bricks will be replaced. As for certain Levels. I will hopefully have them fixed.....Because I have all 8 worlds done.

{I am looking for a Grpahics Designer that can help me with the Graphics......I am not very good at Graphics Designs}

With SMBU you can throw graphics already patched from one hack into your SMB hack. Just click on "File" and go to "Load Another Rom's GFX" and you're all set, there's alotta graphic SMB hacks out there so incase you don't find a gfx designer use someone else's gfx.

Just mention the name in the readme... *sleeps*

That works. Oh, cool! You work fast! You'll have the final version ready in no time.

Hope you're able to find a graphics designer. If not, I second Googie's great idea.

You forgot to mention that "Load Another Rom's GFX" only loads graphics from the other rom and not TSA attributes. I created some GFX SMB1 patches a long time ago that also uses TSA attributes.

I beleive it's time for a Update on how things are going.

1: Levels 1-3 and 2-3 have been improved.

2: A bug was discovered with 6-3. Do not grab the flag while on the platform. That will be fixed.

3: The hack has a Name...it's called........Super Nuthead Bros
