Anyone know the latest releases. I can't seem to get the older patchers to work on snes games. I've got two different emulators and when i patch the patch to the rom, All i'm getting is a message saying checksum failed then a black screen. I've used win ips, snes tool and lunar ips. My windows version is vista. I never had problems before patching. Could it be a vista problem? I've googled for rom patchers and keep coming up with ones i've already tried.

If this is only happening to your SNES games, then I think that the patch was meant for a headerless ROM and your ROM is headered, or vice versa. You should probably try to find something that allows you to add or remove headers (SNESTool probably has this functionality) and see if the patch in question works.

...or you just generally picked the wrong ROM to patch. There are many versions of the same games from different countries, or even of different minor revisions, floating around out there. What were you trying to patch and what to?

It's supermarioworld. I tried the snes tool as RT-55J suggested, Still no luck. Every patch i try, gives me the same results. I've even tried chrono trigger, lufia 1 & 2. Same thing. With snes tool, I've deleted the header, restored, added a header. Nothing works.
The patches are on romhacking.net if anyone wants to see if they are getting the same results. I'll try different roms from the ones i already have as you suggest blackhole89.

Btw, Thanks to both of you for your responses. And thanks in advance for anyone else that replys.

Patches i've tried:
Lufia: Decensored, Lufia II Fixxxer Deluxe, Super Mario World: Return to Dinosaur Land, Super Mario World: Graphics Hack, Chrono Trigger Coliseum.

The super mario world rom is often a bad dump. Celtic608 on youtube helped me get a bundle of a clean SMW rom and Lunar IPS (A higher version than I found anywhere else).

I don't know if that helps you any, but, I had the same problem with patching SMW until I got the clean rom.

Sorry, I'd post a link, but, it's not allowed here, but, I did the next best thing.
