Very good news for users of YY-CHR: A new BETA version (v0.99) Is about to be finished, And it will be ported from HSP (Hot Soup Processor) to C++!

Visit YY's Official English Page for more Info (along with a more recent version of the Virus warning from HSP):

http://www.briansemu.com/yymarioed/

Hope this is the best news ever, And Enjoy!

-Hamtaro126

EDIT: It is in japanese right now, Please wait to see if YY makes it stable and finalized, Then either a english release (and possibly source) will be made

Cool! I wonder what all the new features are, other than it being written in C++.

I think I'll stick with v98 until this one is translated into English, however.

I'm not liking it much at all.

http://www.a3share.com/members/1119/yychrnew.PNG - i just hope it won't look like this on the english version in the future.

**There's a ton of empty blank space on the main windows on the left and right side
** The buttons on the far right are all cut off.
** The whole entire program window is not resizeable anywhere at all period
** If i click on any of that blank space, an error pops up:
http://www.a3share.com/members/1119/error.PNG
** The whole program constantly keeps refreshing every time you click anywhere, reminds me of the old fceuxd 0.98 where the memory viewer and debugging windows refreshed so damn much that it was impossible to click anything.

It's very buggy to be honest.

Version 0.98 seems fine.

And I don't run Japanese .exe programs and there's a goddamn chance that my computer will catch a virus.

Isn't there a chance your computer will catch a virus when downloading anything?

Gonna go with Arbe here.
I don't really see a single advantage in yy-chr over the ol' molester.

Same here. Tile Molester works for me. The only advantage YY had was speed, but that was on my old laptop.

And I'm with Boing too.

Eh, I prefer YY-CHR. Maybe because I used that first? I dunno.

I only use it for SMW hacking, though.

The dialog layout and all the problems connected to it are purely a problem stemming from the dialogue layout not working quite well with English locale. This is what it looks like when applocaled to ShiftJIS.

Applocale doesn't always work for all Japanese .exe programs. That's how I got Pokemon Synthesis editor to not run properly. Or Pokemon Synthesis must've run in different formats.
