This thread is for any ideas or suggestions you have that can improve LazyShell. Any feature requests, ideas, bugs are welcome. Something you want changed? This is the place.

Explanations and mock-ups of your feature ideas make them much more likely to be implemented.

Post any bugs here that you find in LazyShell. Include information on how to reproduce the bug.

  • Quick jump from NPC's to Event Scripts and Action Queue's

  • Quick jump from Scripts to DialogueQueue's

  • A Template system for the Level Editor where users can drag and drop prebuilt objects into levels

  • GFX Set Exporter (No idea where this went, the GFX Set importer is still there)

Follow Map exit.

Middle click to set tile into the selected tile.

I'll think of more later.

Edit:

A easy solid level picker? I mean, a list of height = x or slope directon would make things easier to use.

I could of missed the obvious though.

edit2: Just in case I missed it, I mean the easy solid picker as a quick and dirty way to get a few general tiles.

Also, the middle click to select tile would be nice in the solid editor too!

edit 3!:
When exporting things, can the picker start off the default directory?

edit 4:
Sorry about this, just one last thing I noticed: The help file is unfinshed, and missing some information on scripts and sprites and other areas.

It really needs to have the ability to have a right or middle-click duplicate a tile upon being clicked. Makes creating levels tons faster, and easier too, with the tilemap being hideous to try and navigate by eye.

Maybe some preset tools or something, like for grounds or walls. I'd really like to see something like that, for reasons stated above (can't find too many tiles too easily).

I know the RGB values for the levels seem to go a little slow when you drag them, which isn't horrible, but noticeable.

Well, I haven't tried the editor yet, and don't know if this has been implemented yet, but...
..A 'primary ROM' that you can determine. It will automatically be opened in Lazy Shell upon booting the program itself. It can be turned off if you want, and the ROM can be re-determined.
I've seen this feature only in MarCas, and grew used to it.

I have just deleted the 4 terrapins in the 2nd room of Bowser's Castle and the room freezes when I go to this room in-game. Is that normal, or a bug?

I had the same issue. It apparently expects all the original enemies to be there... What I did was unclicked "Show NPC Instance" on those 4 enemies, made them walkthrough, and set their activation to (none) so it'd be like they weren't there.

Anyways, I have a report of my own. I've been trying to edit some spells to do different things. Originally, I wanted to turn Geno Boost into a healing spell that healed everyone, but if you charge it up at ALL, it then damages you, which is NOT good at ALL. Therefore, I decided to just increase its base power, give it an element, and make it give the enemy some status effects. Okay, the first two went fine, but the statuses... I try to set the effect to Inflict, it forces itself into Nullify when I exit the Stats window. I try to set it to Nullify, it sets itself to NONE. (It also seemed to affect the Jump spell, too. O_o) Finally, if I set it to NONE, it switches to Inflict, which is what I want. This is seriously screwy, and I'm not sure what's going on.

Are you using a 64 bit version of Windows? Lunar Compress.dll is 32 bit and if the .NET code is running in 64 bit mode, it won't work. According the Microsoft website, there is a too called CorFlags that comes with the .NET SDK that can set it to run in 32 bit mode.

I'm having all sorts of problems getting it to run on Linux using Mono. Nearly every option on the main menu crashes the program. One of the problems was loading Lunar Compress.

I am inclined to agree with Cellar Dweller. You can check if your running 32-bit or 64-bit in the System menu under classic control panel in vista. I hadn't considered that would be a problem. If you are indeed running 64-bit, let me know so we can find a fix.

I am running x64

I'm not sure there's any way to run the .net framework in 32 bit, either. Well, here's hoping you find a solution

You know, you guys could just compile the Lunar Magic source in a 64 bit compiler. :O

For those using a 64-bit version of windows, try this out.

http://blogs.intesoft.net/post/2007/12/Running-NET-Apps-in-32-bit-mode-on-64-bit-Windows.aspx

Let us know if it fixes your problem so we know its a 64-bit problem.

Update: Someone has tested the corflags.exe fix and claims it works

Thanks to zuzma for a quick-fix: Once I copied corflags.exe to the lazyshell folder I typed "corflags.exe LAZYSHELL.exe /32BIT+" in the command shell with out the quotes. It pretty much forces it to run in 32bit mode with the 64bit version of the .NET framework.

Corflags can be found here on a 64-bit Vista machine - C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v6.0\Bin\x64\CorFlags.exe

Yeah, it works for me too. It'd still be nice if you could get a 64 bit version out soon or something though, heh.

Yeah, I agree that its not really a solution, but since I dont have access to the Lunar Compress source code itll have to do for now.

We plan to fix the issue in the next release, but the damage is probably done. One of the reasons we waited till it was 100% complete before releasing anything is to avoid Version issues.
