Forgot how I found Acmlm's, but I think it was when I'd just discovered ROM hacking. That was back in the olden days of the First Kingdom. Refused to leave during the second and third.

As for this one? Toxic PM'ed me. Which reminds me, who do I have to blow to get my banana republic back?

I had taken an interest in ROM hacking about a month prior to my discovery of the board. I found the second incarnation via google while looking for a lunar magic advice place or something of the such. I made a grand total of one post on the second incarnation (i mostly lurked) before it went down. I learned of the third incarnation from whatever site Iceman had running at the time. As for this board, I found a link to it (can't remember where) about a day after the "events".

I was a fan of Rom Hacking back in my early years, and I mean YEARS ago. Probably back in 2002 and 2003. I eventually stumbled upon the Challenge Games Community, run by Vagla and others (whom went on to create DESnet. I know this all to well probably?). And well, CGC used an AcmlmBoard at the time, and from their I stumbled upon Acmlm's main site, and then saw the forums.

From there, I became active, got permabanned by Colin, went on to the other 49999999 AcmlmBoards at the time, dedicated my life to posting on boards in 04, and the rest is history.

I found my way to the old board sometime around July... while in Greece.
I'm not sure of when actually, but i'm certain it was around the time Mario Adventure 2 was cancelled

Unfortunately, my error at forgetting to read the sacred FAQ caused my appearance to go into the red... relatively speaking. Then I stopped posting, and began to lurk again.
However, now that I have the internet, I began to post again...
I found my way here through a link in the "So where are you going?" thread at Nobody'sBoard.
There's a big diffrence to me between the Acmlm's Board of old, and the Nobody'sBoard of now. And, of course, this superior board!

I needed help with it, and googled for help. That's how I found Acmlm's. I lurked for a little while (someone else had asked the question I would have), and I joined about a week later, January 5th (what, 2005? Yeah, 'bout then)

About a year ago, I was searching for a board to join. I found Acmlm's. I looked around, and I thought it looked good, so I joined. (Even though I didn't do any rom hacking)

Man, I guess I've been around a long time. In 2000, I first found Acmlm's main site by doing a google search for Super Mario Bros. 2 information and discovered the editor for it, thus romhacking. I checked through what was listed on the site and found hacked levels of Super Mario World (before the days of people using exGFX).

Then in 2001, I decided to check out the message board whenever I got a google link to the board when looking up SMW hacks. Saw how much more advanced everything was compared to the main site. Eventually registered after lurking for a few months.

Found this board through the image of board wars that smallhacker made.

I had seen this board a few times in the past, usually a link from RomHacking.net. Then a few weeks ago, I was getting back to programming and hacking, and re-found this place. It wasn't until then that I made the connection between this ACMLM and the one from TASVideos. I decided to register and post a question or two in the programming forum, but then didn't participate in much else.

Now I'm here, since I found that I really didn't like those guys over there much...

I found the first incarnation through Acmlm's site in February of 2002. I actually found the site itself in July 2001 when I was looking for SMB1 level editors and found "Strange Mario Bros." which I just had to check out. I didn't even know what a message board was at the time though.

As for this incarnation, I hadn't posted in forever at Acmlm's, and Nyletak linked me to the 3rd incarnation just before the Big Split. I registered at both new boards but only posted at this one.

It has been so long that I honestly don't remember how I found the original Acmlm's.. I think I was on some search engine, looking up info on ROM Hacking when I stumbled upon Ace's site, which back then seemed like a gold mine.

From then on I'd continually browse the forums, lurking on and off until now..

And as for how I found "this" board, well.. I was lucky. I caught Xkeeper linking to it in one of his final threads on the other board, right before the thread itself.. kind of vanished. I'm not sure if they deleted it or what, but I definitely couldn't find it when I checked back later.. So yea, I was rather fortunate to have caught the link when I did.

Rom Hacking and google. Although I knew it as "Level Editing" back when I did the searching.. Sigh.. good days (if you exclude my board-area expanding up to the ban where I didn't know rules clearly. Damn Acmlm.. and staff remanagement.. Thinking of it.. I got banned for a reason that someone else didn't. ____________________
