The original point to exiting the level after collecting a star was that, depending on which star you chose to go after before entering the stage, things in the level are changed to accommodate you getting that star. I can't think of any specific example off the top of my head since it's been several years since I touched the game. And far longer since I actually tried playing through it.

Most of the changes are just adding in an NPC or two as far as I can remember (Bom-omb Battlefield and the snow level are the examples that come to mind) and some of the acts didn't really have anything different in them (Lethal Lava Land had one change if I remember correctly, and that was the addition of the koopa shell). I don't know much about SM64, but I was assuming that it would be easier to just leave them all in (and especially in a hack like this where theres a few NPCs already) rather than having to load certain acts for the NPCs.

Glad you 'fixed' the title screen background, but horizontal-vertical tiling is rarely good-looking.
I suggest (if you've got the original Photoshop file or whatever the thing is done with) you rotate is 45 degrees or so and make it tile better.. Diagonal tiling is often appealing and I think it'd look better.
The other tweaks look really amazing as well..! Your level designs are great too.

Keep it up!

Also, I'm guessing the charge bar is for a fire flower thing :>

I also love the level designs. I just can't wait any longer. Not to make you hurry or anything but i'm just so exited! I will continue to be patent until
it's released.

._.

Your not so insightful posts doesn't add much to the discussion. Seriously, it's against most forum ethics to double post a forum thread with "in still exited".

Also for gods sake, install a spell checker.

Looking very very nice. My only serious complaint is that the music (MK64, SF64) doesn't sound too great when ported to SM64. Weren't you planning on writing some of your own music?

Now that I'm pretty much done with the hack, I'm working a bit more on the custom music. The "Moo Moo Farm" is one of the earliest songs I've used, it sounds pretty different from the original because of the instruments, but I still think it's an ok upbeat song.

I have to check again if there is a better instrument mapping, but unfortunately samples are grouped in sets and each sequence can only use one of them. I know how to change the instrument set used in a sequence, but mixing samples from different sequences (which would give much more confort for ports) would require completely rewriting the sound structs.

As for original music, there's one custom song, which I think turned out quite hypnotical . (You can listen an early version of it here, but it has been expanded and improved). I got a bit demotivated on writing more music because my own music tool (which imports from .mml) is too limited and buggy and I'm not sure how to deal with some critical problems.

I always thought the Rainbow Ride instrument set would be the best fit for Moo Moo Farm. Both tracks use a fiddle.

I recall listening to this a while back. It's quite nice.
