Too bad this wasn't out before my Kira-Mitsukai boss. Maybe the end result would have been that much better, not having to waste parts on 'faking' the reflection effect (Not to mention that only a handful of the attacks DID reflect). Hmm...

I tried to fix the determination of both sides.
Goofy as it may be to keep the ship opened and some bullets.

CTR, you should put the "stable" release at the bottom, and classify it as "old "stable" release", with the "beta" being at the top of the initial post. This might be throwing people off the way it is now.

I've been having problems with the version, too. Some bosses give Error 7's (Supposedly, they have to do with Events). And I've experienced Missiles and E.Eggs not working at all on a boss, even though they worked fine in the previous version both in the Editor and in game.

But well, it's a Beta version, no? I guess a fix will go out soon or something, hopefully.

EDIT: Well, I said it. There's a patch up already, go get it while it's hot!

They've been called "beta" versions ever since after the February release, but technically EVERY release has been beta and will be until he's "finished" coding the game. I guess he just decided to acknowledge this or something. Anyway, ignore the "beta" part of the version strings, it's the yyyymmdd part that counts (ie: "20090204" vs "20091020beta", February 4th of 2009 is earlier than October 20th of 2009 thus it's rather obvious which one is the more current version).

OK, so here's a roundup of the new version:

- Extra Parameters increased to 16.

NEW PARTS:
Reflect Ray: Reflects off barriers, lasers and the Energy Wall.
Even if all bullets are able to reflect, this weapon will not be superseded, as bullet length can be varied.

Ion Ring: Simply an Energy Egg that can reflect, like the Reflect Ray, minus the shrapnel.

Energy Wall: The linear companion to the barrier, this thing functions like a combination of barrier and laser in that it blocks your shots (like barrier) and damages you if you try to cross it (like laser)

Ion rings can also 'pulsate' in size. Look into the sample enemy given with the update. (Located separately on the main Fraxy site)

The wall can link across two different parts, and it stuns you much like the explosive tank, should you cross it. (It stuns for as long as you sit in it)

You can variate between if its graphic gives off 'static', or if it's just a transparent/flickering beam. Again, look into the sample enemy.

EXTRA PARAMETER NUMBER 9
For bullets that can reflect and stuff that can deflect bullets, there is extra parameter 9, which is the reflect flag.

Stuff that can reflect bullets should have param 9 as -1, 0 or a power of 2 up to 512.
Bullets that can be reflected should have -1, 0 or 1+.
If 1+ is specified, the game checks the expam 9 of the stuff that can reflect bullets. For example, if the bullet was launched by a reflect ray with expam 9 set to 10, the bullet will reflect off any blade/laser/barrier/energy wall with expam 9 set to 8 or 2, but not any blade/laser/barrier/energy wall with expam 9 set to anything else, because 8+2=10.

So, some other new stuff that seems to be in.

Firstly, Beam length on reflect ray seems to be determined by movement speed, sort of like an afterimage effect.


Next, parameters on weapons seems to act different; correct me if I'm wrong on this being new.

Parameter 5: number of bullets fired at once. Seemingly 1 ~ infinite; but really high numbers aren't advised, due to bucketloads of lag.

Parameter 6: how wide the bullets "Fan" outward from the firing point. 2024 is all directions. Anything beyond 2024 results in different patters, such as bullet groups in a star shape (5 spread points) from the center.


Energy Egg parameters are still the same; new extra parameters are as follows:

23: Reflect Ray

24: Ion
