Has anyone had any trouble getting the rock2-e editor for megaman 2 to work? I keep getting an hsp error but it's in japanese so i cant understand it.
I know there is a number 12 at the end of the error message but if someone who has used this before can help me i would greatyly appreciate it. I am running it on windows xp so i cant think of anything else that i could be doing wrong, im using a clean rockman 2 rom as well. |

Did the editor come with a mmskit.hpi file? It's been a long time since I opened up that editor, just in case it didn't use this if anything. ____________________ My Linktree |

That editor did the same thing for me too when I first used it. I know this is going outta the way, but do you have all your windows updates? Because when I updated my windows, the editor did work for me and since then it's been opening without any problems.
That editor is tricky, I went through the same thing a couple of years ago. ____________________ My Linktree |

Trust me, you'll like how this editor works. Before I lost motivation to hack, I was making a decent Heat Man level. And with this editor, you can see the level animations too. ____________________ My Linktree |

No it's nothing wrong with your computer or googies or whatever. I think it was only meant to be run on japanese computers, cause I also as well would get that HSP error thing when i tried it a really long time ago.
It "might" maybe work if you try setting up the regional settings things to the japanese option for "non-unicode" programs. But im not sure. (at least for win xp, dont know about any other OS) So try: Control Panel --> Regional and Language Options --> Click Advanced tab, click in the drop down box that says english, look for "japanese" and select that. ---> Click OK ----> Restart computer as prompted .....and cross your fingers. If it doesn't help ...then I got absolutely no idea. |

Damn! That kinda makes me Jealous. I'm not sure if my computer has Japanese support but it should have. I haven't tried the kit yet the one Googie have.
I don't have WinXP so applocale won't work with Win98. I don't know if Rock2-e is compatable with Win98 or not but I hope it does. Otherwise I have to wait until I buy a new WinXP laptop or install a desktop Win98 to WinXP. |

Posted by Insectduel sorry to hear that insectduel, i hope you can get it to work for you, i really like the interface and everything. I was hoping it had something where i could edit the title screen but no go on that, I think i have to use visine for that, i tried to run that on dosbox last night and it just loads to a grey screen. **update, got visine to work as well, really nifty little program as well. |

Someone by the name Kuro posted this at RHDN...
Move the rom image to a location where the path is very short (such as right after C: ). If it still doesn't run, move the rock2-e folder to a location where the path is very short as well." --- At first I was getting the error message with (12) in it, but I placed the rom image inside of rock2-e and moved it right inside C:, and now everything works correctly, so I hope that helps. ----------------------- I figure this'll help anyone who wants to use this editor now in case they're having prollems with it. G'nite! ^^' ____________________ My Linktree |
