This old-fashioned technique of subtly getting people to look at your site would work better if it was a bit more subtle than this...

What is that editor written in, anyway?

Probably because it's not clear what Double Helix is.

Not even the blog makes it clear what the tool is used for.

Tool looks nice, I had a brief play around with it earlier. You should really put up a few screenshots and sell it a bit more interdpth, not everyone bothers with the Rom Hacking forums.

Makes me wonder how easy it would be to remake Super Metroid with it though (Discounting the frightening amount of sprite assembly you'd have to do to remake the bosses from that game as well as a few room design changes to accompany the changed mechanics.)

Gah.

Double Helix is an editor for Metroid Fusion, and Metroid Zero Mission, the blog should say that somewhere

I think what Xenesis meant was remaking Super Metroid in the engine of whatever Metroid game the editor edits...

I actually *do* believe that it hasn't gotten much attention, what with the original post and all...

When you release something as big as this, it's best to show some screenshots, provide a "What's New" list, a link to the download, etc. instead of just a link to your blog which just tells you to read the readme.

I really want to get back into hacking, but I've got another project at hand still and I've been getting a lot more hours than usual. Good luck with this, you'll always have my support.

Aye, you would be correct. I was wondering how easily it could be accomplished within the MZM/MF engine.

Oooh, thank you the screenshots makes it much more clear what it is.

Looks impressing alright, and I would probably compare it as the Lunar magic of Super Metroid seeing how much it can do.

...I would try the editor if I could just bother playing through Super Metroid first.

You know, that made it probably even more obvious about how much of the Metroid series I actually played.

Unless I missed something, are you going to include an option in Double Helix that lets you changing the tileset used in a room?

Edit: Double Helix seems to work a bit laggy/buggy on Vista. It doesn't have any side effects on the rooms itself but the windows sometimes won't work correctly. I don't know anything about this thing so I just ask: Any way to get this fixed?

No, I don't how to fix it on vista, short of getting a box with vista(Which I detest after a months use)

But to change the tileset, go into the header editor.
