I agree with that. More hints would've been great.

...so now I've got all the equipment, all spells, most stats maxed...but I swear as I make multiple trips back and forth between the palaces, the more the 'this is evil' factor keeps kicking in for me. Originally I was inspired to create a Zelda 2 hack, but there's no way I could top this.

Had this been the original Zelda 2, it would've easily become the most hated NES game of all time just on the challenge factor.

BTW, is there a reason why I can't pass through hammer'd rocks on the overview? Is this a glitch, or another tribute to the evilness of this game? (FYI, I'm playing hard mode of the most recent 1.4 version.)

No, it's not a glitch, it's just that you need to find a way other than merely going through caves...

Well yeah, I knew that. I've found multiple hidden trails through mountains. I was just curious to know why I couldn't pass through rocks after I hammered them.

The last 'old' post asked why there were 6 palaces but only 5 crystals? Which Palace was the odd-one out? I've got 2 crystals left and the 3 remaining palaces have legitimate reasons as to why it's missing.

Sand Palace: I assumed that since the normal, crumbling, and breakable blocks all look the same, then there was probably a secret room or secret pit to the crystal chamber. Alas, the only room I found was a dead-end, with no breakable blocks at all. I've since down/upstabbed everything else and found nothing. The only pit takes me back near the beginning. Is there a trick I'm missing?

Cave Palace: In the tradition of the original Zelda 2, the hammer was found in a cave, so naturally, a 'cave' shouldn't have a crystal chamber. It's the only palace I haven't thrououghly explored yet, so I'm skeptical of that theory.

Wacky Palace: Link moonwalks, the power glove is a power bracelet, Ironknuckles punch with their fists, magic jars hidden in thin air...I seriously hope a palace this strange and this evil wouldn't have a crystal chamber...after all, everything about this palace is wrong, so wouldn't that mean it would also be missing a crystal chamber?

I'll say it again...This hack is EVIL! And I still haven't attempted the trail to the Great Palace yet.
