Here is a new boss I'm gonna have replace the hammerbro boss.
Please note only the battle is done I'm gonna edit more later, like
probably removing the event for getting the hammer and having the
shell be the item you win from the battle.



Any thoughts?

I like the looks of this boss, however IMO I think it needs another attack. Also, when the main boss is defeated, I think the reinforcements should run away.

Thanks for the constructive criticism, I appreciate it, about the attack,
what kind of attack do you think he should use? Also note that I didn't
give him anything that would induce an ill effect on account of mario
not being able to have an item that remedies it this early in the game.
I'll see what I can do about the sky koopa's running away, I was thinking of
them doing a final attack like fun and run then fleeing. What do you think?

I was thinking either Multistrike or Drain. Basically since this is your first boss, you want to have an attack that does not do that much damage.

Also, I don't think the sky koopas should have a final attack because if your HP is low, you have a chance of losing the battle depending on the final attack you give them.

Hmm... drain seems like a nice idea, croco uses multistrike but it looks kinda
weird so maybe I'll give croco another attack and have koopa caption use both
multistrike, drain and another attack. as for the sky koopa's I recently found out
how to make them not get summoned back, this is what I did:

-----If memory address: 7EE004 , bit(s) are clear: 1
-----If hp is below: 75
-----Then blah blah blah
-----Set memory address: 7EE004 , bit(s): 1
-----Wait 1 turn, restart script

So basically I put the "if bits are clear" first and put "set bits" second to last.
I hope this helps anyone else who may have this problem.

The release date would probably be mid next year. Dunno if I can meet with the deadline. It needs lot of work as I am working on it alone.

Oh my... incredible work! It looks like you are a pro
at lazy shell now, and an enemy using a power-up? Brilliant!
One thing though, is it possible to make Luigi a little taller
and Wario a tad fatter?

Yes. Lazy Shell has the ability to import sprites into the game, but it would require overwriting some of the compressed graphics. Not to mention, we kinda lack the Luigi sprite. Making Luigi taller requires editing the Mario SGI object, that is beyond my ability, I'm not good at sprite editing nor do I have the program to edit it. But I do already have the Wario sprite, though I don't have much time to incorporate it. I can barely master the script editor.

I am not done yet, so no patch at the moment. I'll release the patch after I finish my hack, but no promises though.

I am still working on the battle frames, and it's a nightmare I tell you. I keep making Yoshi look like some deformed monster.

Ailment palette preview:


I am making Yoshi's victory animation. I need opinions. I'm not sure if I should use one of the three frames below or just make a completely custom one.
For reference, I used the victory frame from Yoshi's Island.



Eventually, I'll upload a demo video of the little hack I have, so don't forget to check back here some time in the future. I'm still not really sure if I'll include Yoshi just to show him off, but if he isn't in the video I'll upload a preview when I have the most basic animations done (like the frames for fainting and getting hit).

Here is a preview video not of Yoshi, but of a Fire Bro. I thought someone might care if I posted a preview. He doesn't have any classic fire attacks yet. Instead, he's going to kick some dirt in your face!



I was going to add a fire attack that replaces hammer time, but I don't know how to make the animation play how I want...

I actually have a Fire Bro enemy in my hack... But still it looks good.

If possible, I'd just go with having the fireballs "bounce off", making sure that Mario (or whoever is attacked) receives fire damage.

Wow, you guys really have some nice videos and sprites! ^^
I like the Fire enemies (Goomba as example) a lot, but Yakibomb's blue Yoshi amazed me, especially the fact that the sprites look so great. =O

Well, a guy called virtualboy2558 and I are wanting to make more like a "sequel" to SMRPG, and I still need help with Lazy Shell, but I thought it would be good if I would show you some of the stuff I've made so far.

I made some enemies and other stuff a while back (not sure what should appear in the game) which I've edited again since I've found out that there's a color limitation (so everything you see should have 15 or less colors), but I'll let you use them if you guys continue helping me out with the program. ^^ I'll create complete animations (molds/sprites) so they can be used in the game, but I'm not sure which ones I'm going to finish.

I've edited the title screen, but I may change it again. I wouldn't mind if you would use some of the letters or the "Super Mario RPG2" image for your game. ^^


Hope the images look alright. =O I like improving myself, so let me know if you see anything wrong. ^^
