For your multiplatform condrum, you COULD use GTK, and be able to make Mac and Linux ports =)

Quoted for truth.

When I open the Fusion ROM I immediately get "Runtime Error 9". I get "Runtime Error 7" after forever when waiting for MZM to load.

Then you have the wrong MF rom :O Download an other.

I've tried three different MF roms and none of them work. Are you sure you didn't give us a buggy/non-working version?

Now I'm getting the same errors, except for the opposite games.

EDIT: I should mention that I'm using Windows 98.

No I'm only getting "Runtime Error 7: Out of Memory" or something like that. It's probably a fault on my end now.

Still doesn't work, although everything appears to load. My computer sucks.

I think I'll just plan my Fusion hack while waiting for the C version.

Can you implement a way to change the beam power (including pseudo screw attacks and that) and Samus' running and falling speed and how long a shinespark lasts for and how long it takes to charge a charge beam and how long you have to escape tourian and chozodia and enemy/boss healths

Yeah it's alot (well only 6 things) but they are also necessary for a great editor like yours

Apparently whenever I place a block the editor takes like 5 seconds to place it. For each block. So if I wanted to make a wall 5 blocks tall it'd take about 26 seconds. It's kinda annoying.

Many of metroid fusion rooms are a bit messed up... For example the plant boss, the lower part of some plants have door graphics.

And the animation refreshing doesn't seem to work... it only animates the garbage tiles in the tile selector...

Animate tiles is for a beta function, and uses up ALOT of speed, nightkev that could be your problem it takes no more then a click to select tile then a click to place tile. 5 seconds, that might be something with your computer.

Too many programs maybe?

Hmm, animate tiles, sounds reasonable, I'll turn that off and see if it helps.

So how similar are the two games to each other as far as the code goes? Is it basically just "old code with new skin" or is it actually different?

Posted by Sakamoto
Sakamoto: We used Fusion's system as a base. But, in the process, we rebuilt portions of the engine. We tweaked some parts and did a lot of retooling. It was more efficient than building Zero Mission from scratch, but we still spent a lot of time in development.

Another thing borrowed from Fusion was its cinematic cutscenes for the storytelling aspects. This was an almost unheard of technique when the NES version released, but Mr. Sakamoto acknowledges its value.

The engine that ZF uses for the 2 games is exactly the same albeit a few differences which have been accounted for.

P.JBoy by sprites, I meant future ZF's will actually draw the sprite from ROM.

Which will hopefully be fairly fast. =P

I'm thinking of scraping the current ZF for a new VB one.

Not sure. But hey, whatever I do is for the best it seems!

Anyother questions?
