Is a tool finally released?
I think the person used a hex editor, but I want your opinions and thoughts.

A google search didn't reveal much, but, then again, it was obviously done by a japanese person.

Pretty awesome, that's for sure. Maybe I should get around to actually finishing that decompressor/recompressor I wrote for KSS, since I never really fixed the recompression routine...

Ever get the impression the Japanese have nothing but free time?

Everyone except the Japanese knows that the Japanese have free time enough for thirty countries.

Everyone except the Japanese also knows that anything that the Japanese make is going to be EXTREEEEEEEEEEMELY hard unless the localization team gets a hold of it.

20 hour work days.
Yeah, way too much spare time.

But yeah, this was very impressive. Hoping to see more.

After watching the video, it appears we have hit a new high for hacking. Never did I think the day would come when we had a Kirby stage that was beatable by not doing anything.

This gives me a brilliant idea. We need a Super Mario World hack that you can only beat effectively by not moving. Think about it, how awesome would it be? It would be the next level of hacking; hacking so incredible that you don't even need to play the game.

Seriously though, I'm sure the video's creator has some information that would be valuable to get ahold of. Someone should pursue this.

You mean automatic SMW videos like these ones on YouTube?

We had an automatic Mario level contest on SMWC not so lately.

Yeah, self-playing levels have been around on Super Mario World forever. They even have some which play along to the rhythm of a song too (I wouldn't mind an actual game like this some day) :o

I had heard about that, but I didn't enter because it takes me long enough to hack a nice level without worrying about whether or not the person has to move.

From the looks of that vid, only sprites have been moved. I doubt well be able to make a full blown hack of KSS anytime soon.

Oh?

Same person's Youtube account.

EDIT: And another. I tried going to the site linked, but I couldn't find the tool used to make those there, if there is one.

Oh wow. That's amazing. I'm betting that was all made with a hex editor still though. But considering all of the info that must have been gathered, I bet someone could make an editor. (A very skeletal editor, at the least.)
