Hey guys I'm new around here andI must say I'm very impressed with these hacks.

Megaman 9 revived my craving for megaman, so started playing Megaman
1-8 again but this time in my psp!

Then, I stumbled upon a bunch of youtube videos that led me here. XD

So...I'm thinking of getting into the rom hack scene...maybe I can come up
with something oiginal but within the megaman boundaries at the same
time.

At the moment I'm playing Megaman Ultra and Rockman No Constancy
(sorta reminds me of Megaman 9's difficulty).

Also, if anybody is interested in other people's rom hacks I found this
website with many rom hacks of many games archived. They also have
them in playable form right off the bat.

http://www.derok.net/emulation0/megaman.html

Let me say it one more time, I'm happy to be part of this community. =D

BAN HIM
Seriously, just don't fucking post. Everything you leave behind you are nothing but giant piles of steaming of shit. If I had the authority to ban you, it would have been done already.

Everyone else: clean up your goddamn shit or I'm going to start throwing things.

I typically don't play Rockman/Megaman hacks because most of the ones I have played seemed to be designed for a player with either a shitload of patience or a shitload of skill. Or savestates. If anyone can recommend a game on par with the originals (as far as difficulty goes) I'd love to hear it.

Yes yell at me.
Are you freaking joking, this is what got me banned before.

He honestly said that too anyways, he used some html or something so it would be hidden but it will appear if you quote him.

You seem to be the dominant dumbass in this thread, hence my "yelling" at you.

You continue to derail the thread.
You whine about what other people do in the thread, instead of PM'ing someone about it.
You don't even contribute half of the time.

There are people new to this community that don't need this. Knock off your shit, final warning.

Kaneco: Welcome to the community. Sorry about the drama; unfortunately, some people aren't here to be constructive. If you wind up making a hack, I'd love to see what you come up with. Feel free to ask questions; there are experts on this forum for most NES MM games (myself for MM1, kuju killer for MM3, infidelity for MM4, Matrixz for MM3-5) who I'm sure would all be willing to help out with whatever MM game you may choose to hack. Personally, I love lending a hand, so don't hesitate to ask.

There are a bunch of good editors for the MM series. Mega Man 1 has Rock and Roll and visine, MM2 has visine, MM3-5 have MegaFLE, and MM6 has sixtans. There are also some Japanese editors available, though I don't know much about them. I can't really say which game is easiest to hack (though I think MM6 is probably the hardest), but I'm sure I speak with extreme bias by saying it has to be Mega Man 1.

Good luck.

KP9001: Unfortunately, I'm yet another MM hacker not catering to the casual Mega Man gamers (read: my hacks require a shitload of skill). The hack I'm working on is very hard, but I'm happy to say that it's not difficult for cheap reasons; I'm following my own pretty strict rules on what constitutes a well-designed level. At the very least, Mega Man is known for being a challenging series (MM9 gave me a decent amount of trouble my first time through, which I thought was great), so it's not totally out of place. I share your irritation with hacks that have precognition as an undocumented requirement or require pixel-perfect movement. Balance can be great, and good design habits are key.

It's nice to know that some people still make hard levels but don't require stupid-ass techniques or 209375 save states. I want to play the goddamn game and enjoy it. I'm someone with a short attention span and an "VG" anger problem (See: Angry Nintendo Nerd) so hacks like the one you're making isn't my cup of tea.

I prefer games that don't require a whole lot of effort, aren't repetitive, and are fun. This is why a lot of RPG's turn me off. Megaman 9 gave me a hard time, but it was still enjoyable; it was about the point of difficulty that I start to get really upset and just quit the game out of disgust. Though, there were a couple of jumps in MM4 that made me quit that game for 3 years before I picked it up again and beat it...

The same thing could easily be said about Metroid hacks. I'm personally tired of seeing them. I don't see what's so damn great about Metroid. Mega Man over Metroid any day.

You're both right.

I need something to do. Somebody post a bunch of Pokémon hacking questions. GBA series only please.

what's your hate with the megaman hacks? SO it's ok to have like 56 million threads about super mario hacking and the like but something new gains some steam and you guys are saying enough is enough?? Why does mario get treated differently?? I started this thread because i wanted to know about a rockman hack and immediately get flamed with "enough with the fucking megaman hacks" Give me a break, if you don't like rockman and megaman hacks why bother posting in this thread.

Im sure you would love it i chimed in on your hack thread with "Enough with the ---- fucking hacks.

I don't know man, i just don't get why the rockman hate on here. Someone please tell me why.....

XTTX
Well put. I don't get it either.

For example, I don't like golf, but do you see me going on a golf forum, and saying "Golf sucks." Why visit a golf forum if you don't like golf? It's the same thing in this situation. If you don't like Mega Man, they why bother posting in this thread?

And just to level the playing field, I also agree with what you said about SMW hacks. No one ever seems to say anything about that, do they? Let me be honest with you guys when I say this. I HAVE NO DESIRE or URGE to EVER play any SMW hack, because that game has been so over-hacked, its not even funny. And since I never really did play SMW hacks, I have nothing to worry about.

i have been/am completely over it. It just does not make any sense, like i stated before i started this thread for a discussion on a certain rockman hack and then i get flamed for it, but whatever, im glad that some people on here actual have some useful things to say and that this thread has helped someone.

No point in pointless bickering trax, im not an internet drama queen and im pretty sure you arent either. Point plain and simple, if you don't like rockman hacks dont post in the thread. By the way i didnt sound off as megaman being new persay but rather the hack at that point in time i was trying to locate.
