Well, I like it since it does stand out a little bit better now while not standing too much.

I always imagined something more gray or silverlooking... not gold. xD

Try to tone down the yellow on things that part of Layer 1. It doesn't look bad really, just odd.

Well, I made two custom sprites based of mikeyks standart sprites. A 32x32 beezo and a 32x32 para beetle!

For me as an ASM newb, it's a pretty big success for me. I drew the graphics myself based of the 16x16 versions of them. Please tell me what you think.

PS: Ignore the black ground, I wanted to make a tileset but I scrapped it and the ground ended up black. And sorry for the crappy video quality, Snes9x isn't a good emulator for video recording but my only chance.

Also a new tileset I ripped from the game "Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2 - March of the Minis" for the DS:

Ah neat. Reminds me about World 4 in SMB3 . You might want into looking smoothing the graphics up a bit of the enemies you upsize, unless you want that pixelated look.

Very nice! However, the spikes are offset...I think it would look better if they were all the same height.

I think the point was to demonstrate the sprites themselves and how they function, not their appearance.

Well, to be honest, I'm very bad at GFX and that graphics are the best I ended up with.

Thanks for all the nice comments.

I wouldn't blame you. At least I prefer pixelation, than running them throu a ugly automatic filter to make them look smoother...

Gotta post it here aswell.
Once, I ripped the BG from SMAS SMB1 Level 1-1 but it included just the hills which looked kinda empty. Now, I decided to revamp that set and expanded it by ripping more tiles and the Layer 3 clouds.
The whole BG took me two hours, with assembling and piecing together:

Comments and feedbacks would be nice.

Here's the first stage of SMB1sp in my SMW hack:

That's the gist of it. The background is temp until I figure out a way to make it look more like the regular SMB stages. The OW and Feather are also temp.

The adaptation of the SMW Koopas to the SMAS drawing style turned out well. Did you make that yourself?

Thanks! And, yes I did. I used a combination of the original SMW koopas, the SMAS hammer bros., and the SMAS koopas. The only thing I'd like to do is have a version with the shades and spikes.

Nice screenshots. I really like how you did those koopas.

However I would suggest to use PNG. PNG looks best for pictures and drawings that aren't too complicated, such as screenshots of SNES games.

Shoot, I hadn't realized that I had ZSNES set to use bitmaps. Thanks for noticing.

Ah, it probably was photobucket who were converting them to JPG for you then. It does that with bitmap files.

Might I suggest:

A: redraw Mario, he looks way out of style
B: simply use the SMAS Mario graphics
or C: use the SMAS Mario graphics but tweak them

Other than that, the koopas look nice.

When I get around to Mario's appearance I plan to use the SMB2 sprite as a base and redraw him in SMAS-SMB style. I want prevent his small form from being tiny, ya know?

@koala_knight:I like your screenshots but that black feather does not look right at all.I might recommend that you fix the feather so it looks right.
