Yes, that's true, the rocks are from the background or the foreground? Anyways, good work Doggycharly, you are getting better and better!

Edit: I like the water of YI! Which GFX file stores the layer 3 water?

Edit2:

The old look of my overworld, without new GFX and a little empty...

My overworld, in its new look. I added some graphics of SMB3 as you can see the mushrooms from Toadstool Coast and the palmtrees. I also made the clouds basing in some tiles of the switch palaces.

Comments are allowed, please!

I always found the SMB3 mushrooms to look like they falled down on the ground. Infact I used to think of them as mushrooms that was chopped down fro some reason in World 8 in SMB3...

Looks much more intresting to look at however. Good job.

I like how it looks, however, I think the clouds would look better if they were brighter.

From a small side hack I may or may not ever finish. It was originally going to be a Christmas 2007 gift but I never finished it. All the FG/BG graphics minus the flames are totally custom.

Didn't rip the flames, though.

The clouds use palette 7, if I make them brighter they'll use the colour of the sea. I also can use palette 5 to make the outlined blue yellow, what do you guys prefer?

Also, Firephoenix0, your level is very neat! I like how you used the fire generator of SMW for your custom background! Keep it up!

Just use a different palette that you aren't using.

Meh, the clouds still don't look that good. Try making a palette that you aren't using have gray colors, and set the clouds to use that.

I've tried the palette 3 for it and I think gray colours don't fit with them... I used the same palette and changed the gray colours of it to a fair blue, I think it's nice now:

What do you think?

Better but still a little too harsh. It's that dark outline. Lighten that color to make them like they're in the distance. Also I think it might be a good idea to lighten the color of the sky.

Regardless of what you do, the perspective does and will look very, very, very off in that overworld.

You could help it a bit by adding a bit of sense of it to the clouds, i.e. make the structures wider than tall.

You could try to make the outlines a sky blue and then making it brighter...
May I suggest you make the clouds animated, like in some kirby backgrounds? You can overwrite animated tiles you aren`using.

What did you do to palette 1? That handles a part of the status bar. Use palette 3.

Buu-Huu, you do know you can make palette animation so you don`t have to include 2 ExGFX files, right?

Just asking you.

I already made it brighter and without black outlines, but I don't know how to animate overworld tiles...

Also, I like the rips.
