Someone should make a matching "giant powerup" that powers Mario up and gives him the same item in reserve. Of course, I'd imagine you'd also have to change the block it's coming from, too.

I'm searching a BG.
And yes, those bricks and the sand are exactly the same FG.

In the top two pictures there, the colour of the foreground blocks and the immediate background is too small, and it makes seeing the level somewhat difficult.

That's a lot better, but I'd advocate darkening the wall bg just a *little* more.

Put a little more gray into it as well. Super Mario World does damn good with slightly desaturated background tiles.

That looks pretty good. Might want to adjust the hue of either the background or foreground dirt, though, so that they match. You've got yellow sand against a maroon-brown desert.

You mean like in that one Elvis Presley movie with the back-projected beach scene's sand not at all matching the studio sand?

Your background is WAY too bright in places, and too dark in others. Visually, it's nearly impossible to discern the FG columns from the BG whatevers at a glance.

Your terrain looks neat, but that giant Blurp seems to be lacking shading in places.

Though the big areas of the sandy stuff seem a bit too busy. What's it look like if you lighten up the wavy lines a bit?

I'm sure most of you guys have seen these over at SMWC, but just in case I'll post them here for some extra feedback.

*NOTE: I'm aware of the lower bridge having tiles with the wrong palette.

Looks pretty decent; I think you just should lower the contrast on the ground textures a little.

Also, adding some texture to the wall tiles would be an interesting thing to try, although I have no idea whether there's any chance of making it look decent.

Also, you should try and make some more changes to the large tree graphics.
