Nice disclaimer. xD Must feel pretty bad for the poor guy who bought this tech demo. Knowing the GBA pirates, they just hack away that disclaimer... (so you probably should put it further into the game, or in several places). Apart from the obvious bugs and no sound, it's pretty nice so far. blackhole89: The running out of PP thing is part of the game mechanics. If all moves runs out of their PP points, the Pokémon will use a struggle move. This rarely happens in the any of the games though, so it's a game design issue. The black screen is protected.
As I intended to state, a lot of battle effects are unfinished. Also, you might want to try catching a different monster to use against ArBeWhat's Pikachu. You'll notice the free potions and PokéBalls. Pressing L or R toggles the help system. It looks good for a demo, but like the others said, the enemy AI really needs to be worked out as well as several other things. For example, Jynx uses Lovely Kiss and puts me to sleep, but then it keeps using it over and over until I wake up, where it uses it again. Same with Flareon who keeps on using tail whip endlessly and doesn't even attempt to attack my Pikachu. I think the best until a better way is found, just make the enemy AI choose a random move to do. I don't know if it's just me though, but the game freezes when I talk to the GYM leader.
Also, with Dragonite, thundershock shouldn't be super effective since it's a dragon and flying Pokemon, both types should mix and should have no additional damage gain/loss. Red/Blue/etc. did it this way basing the total damage done on the second type if it interferes with the first, but it fixed in Gold. Keep it up, and this will look awesome in the future. ____________________ Pokemon Prism |

It -does- pick a random attack. I tried it and well, it's pretty much unplayable, there's so many glitches and nothing feels right at all. I think the thread on JUL sums this up best. It wouldn't have been so bad but the amount of glitches just makes it...pretty sloppy looking |

Y'know, there's a pretty thick line between simply criticising and being total jerks about it.
So far, most of the reactions to this thing have been the latter. Keep it up and you won't have to expect anything else, like OpenPhoenix. I had hopes for this thing, worked on it for almost a year. Never finished a single project, so I kept working, trying to finish at least this. Actually, we weren't being jerks, all things considered. We were horribly disappointed, and I even had the decency to explain WHY everything was as poor as it was, I really didn't have to  I'm too nice sometimes, honestly...
This project will end up like all the other projects (the difference being who you stole it from--surprisingly, not from Bouche this time. Like Sappy and EM) and never be finished, or if it will, it'll be just as half-assed as this because you don't seem to listen when people who know what they are talking about tell you WHY you are doing something wrong or that you should do something a certain way for a good reason. I bet you wish you listened to me huh thanks for kicking me off the project though, I'd rather my name not be on...this. |

To get past Cearn, assuming you're using VBA, go to 0x0801AE58 and zero out until the 13 at 0x0801AE63. If I'm playing a game, the common user shouldn't have to go in to a MEMORY EDITOR to get past part of the game. Says a lot about the quality right there. |
