Hey there! I'm new here, and I'm a bit crazy seeing as though my introduction is "How do you hack Panel de Pon?". Anyhow, that is the question on hand right now, how to hack Panel De Pon. I'm targeting these specifics though:
1. How do I change the graphics each character uses, so say I wanted the game to use this:
instead of this: ?
2. How could change the number of stages you have to play in VS. Com mode on any given difficulty? Also, how do you create the pointers so they reference to the right stages?
3. How could I change the voice clips each character uses?
4. I know there is an english patch for PdP, and that if I used Tertis Attack instead, there'd be Englich text, but how would I edit the in game Vs Com and Stage clear text for the game?
5. I have some midis of some songs I would need to insert in to the game as the result of adding stages, but I can't seem to find a way that will allow me to import this midis into a SPC/N-SPC/Beta N-SPC that would use Panel De Pon's instrumentation and be PdP/TA safe. Is there any way Icould do it, or is there someone else that could do it for me?

Thanks in advance for all your help!
~Chao.

Place 1000 monkeys in a room with 1000 typewriters and one of them should sooner or later write a description for you.

No. I just meant on the music part for doing it for me, because the rest I could probably easily grasp, since all the rest is is basically simple graphic text and audio hacking. I simply would like to know how to do it. The music is out of my hands though, and probably will most likely have to be done by someone who has the hands and knowledge to do so. No need for confusion.

SNES music is a little obscure because of the fact that the sound processor is extremely complicated. I don't know much about it at all. However, there are some SPC notes somewhere around the internet. I had it bookmarked, but it got moved and now it's a 404 for me. So, your best bet is to search Google for it, and see if you can figure something out there. Other than that, there are some users here that know a little bit about N-SPC and others, hopefully this thread will catch their eye.

Smallhacker raises a valid point there... I'll try to answer anyway...

1. Assuming the graphics are uncompressed, you'd just have to look through the ROM with an appropriate tool like YY-CHR in SNES 4bpp mode, find the graphics and replace them. Well, plus the palettes, that is.
2. Learn 65c816 assembly, figure out how stage loading is done, add stages.
3. Find the raw BRR (9/16 scale CBR lossy compression for samples used in the SPC700's DSP) data for the voice clips in the ROM, use some BRR encoder (I think kode54 wrote a foobar2000 export filter that worked) and replace the data.
4. Sounds like those are "prerendered" graphics. Apply #1.
5. If the game uses N-SPC (judging from its release date, it definitively won't be beta N-SPC, for which some 2channel based SMW hackers wrote a MIDI import filter), you are probably best off by resequencing it yourself, either waiting for Solar Soundtrack or doing so in a hex editor using one of those N-SPC format descriptions that float around the internet occasionally. Being (I think) the only one who actively works on the N-SPC format anymore, I can tell you I'm not planning on MIDI import.

1. I believe Panel De Pon's compression system is yet to be known, so there'll be no graphic editing of any kinds, I'm afraid. Correct me if I'm mistaken, though .
3. There's a tool called SNESSOR95 that is known from its ability to tinker around with SNES Samples. Check it out.

As for the other questions, sorry. I'm all out :X

Strangely enough, Panel de Pon/Tetris Attack does use the beta N-SPC engine. Most of the digits for the commands are identical to those found in SMW.
